Cineplex is offering the chance to step out of the heat and experience UltraAVX from the 1st to the 31st of August. You just need to have at least 500 points in your scene card to be eligible. It is valid in Quebec (and since most of the time Quebec is the last place where super awesome deals come in) I would suspect it to be nationwide, though I would need some confirmation on that.

You're right, I tried reserving a seat but it seems there isn't even an option to make use of the promotion during checkout. Maybe they didn't update their website yet?

I don't have any link since it was a customized email (including our personal information). And clicking on an online version only brings us to the same thing but in a web browser. So no real webpage for this deal yet, but I mean, if you have 500 points and go to any participating theater, you shouldn't have any trouble just going to the movies or online when it becomes active to enter the required information, since in the email there is no special "promo code" or anything similar of any sort (basically an informative email on a promotion).

They have this deal every wednesday prior to this promotion (500 scene points opposed to 1000 for any movie), its like an equivalent of Ontarios tuesday deal, or at least ottawa's tuesday deal.

I highly doubt it :S, we have the Tuesday deal in Quebec as well (if you're talking about ticket price of 6.75$ or somewhere close). I search the web and found that there has been similar deals like this (500 points for any movie) over the past few years in Quebec, but all of them state the deal is valid only in the month of august.

Been on site today and the clerk confirmed me that the promotion is valid on the counter only. I'm lucky, i work nearby the scotia bank cinema and you can buy your tickets in advance. Have aa good day and thanks for the promo.

BC had this promo for two theatres a month ago. Only it was hotter since it was valid for Imax, AVX, and VIP and you could book online :P

I was at the Cineplex in Montreal downtown this week to watch Dark Knight Rises

As I was about to pay, they informed me that I could use the 500 points on my Scene Card to watch it for free.

Then they proceeded to tell me that for the whole month of August it would only cost 500 points to watch any ULTRAAVX movie at any time

Normally it's 1000 points for a free movie

Considering you get 250 points for registering it's a pretty decent deal

if you read the other thread they mention you can't book your ticket online. Has to be at the box office.

Having to buy your tickets at the box office somewhat defeats the advantage of reserved seating. However, it is still a good deal if you can get good seats without arriving early.
