I'm probably going to be looking for a portable air conditioner, because I am moving into an Apartment building.

They supply heat, but no air conditioning.
Hydro is included in the rent so I don't care how much electricity a unit uses.

I've done minimal research on units and I have concluded I would ideally like to have a 12000 BTU Portable Unit.

Any Suggestions?

What's a good make?
Refurb or new?

Where are you planning to hook it up? We have one that goes in (most) of our windows and in the sliding glass door to our patio (which is really nice)

I would probably vent it out the bedroom window, and have the vent tube running along the bedroom wall to the small window.

Air conditioner would sit centrally located in the apartment, just outside bedroom, in living room.
