This is a rant so stop reading if you hate rants:

So this past weekend I took a cab to a first date and it almost ruined it. It was so hot out so the windows to the cab were closed and AC was blasting so it was nice and cool in the car.. The guy had the worst BO I have ever smelled in my life. He was this old dude and I was brought up to respect old people so I didn't feel right tellig him to take a shower sometimes. Anyways I get to the date and I noticed when I sat down that the smell would just not go away from me. I excused myself to the washroom to smell my shirt and his BO had infiltrated my whole body it seemed like. I was in a bind and finally jokingly mentioned to my date about the cabbie BO: she took it well and was relived. Apparently she always gaged when she hugged me at the beginning and thought it was my BO but was too nice to say anything. She was def a lot more engaged on the date after I told we about the cabbie and we had fun.

Anywho, why do Toronto cabbies have such bad BO? I have been to other cities and toronto seems to be one of the worse in terms of Ontario. Should there not be legislation demanding that cabbies keep a clean car and free of major BO? Or am I making a big deal of nothing?

Maybe It was the seats that you were sitting on that smelled so It might have transferred to you!

When you walk into a cab and the BO hits you like a nuke right in the face it is pretty obvious it isn't yours. I should have just walked out but was late and it isn't like he is the only cabbie with this issue in toronto.

There are many of us in toronto that would pay a premium price for a premium taxi service in Toronto.

Nice cars, clean and precessional drivers, and easy Apps to book them - the same service I used in Washington. I would deal with them instead of the current cabs.

If your talking about the incident a few years ago it was because the passenger teased the driver and made racist comments about the driver. He got pissed.

Your date was ruined the moment you took a cab!

Around here, there are welfare bums that take the cab. So, maybe it was a passenger's B.O. and their urine soaked pants that contributed to the smell, and not the driver. I know that when the bus smells really bad, there is a homeless person on board.

There's also people puking in the cabs after clubbing/drinking.

you can call limo services for that. they won't send you a limousine obviously unless you request it, but they have lincoln towncars (or something similar) to chauffeur you around. not sure if any of these companies allow you to book using an app though.
