The other day I was wandering around yonge and finch and came across this korean food stand. I got a rice cake ($1) and my friend had a pork skewer of some kind ($2.50), and I have to say my mind was blown. The rice cake in particular was amazing, especially for the price.

So it got me thinking that there's got to be other undiscovered little street food places around the city, outside of the usual hot dog type stuff.

Do you guys know of any others?

Sadly all we seem to have are hot dog stand. The Korean food stand you mentioned is a joyful sight. Another gem is this place in front of Mount Sinai Hospital. I forgot the name but they sell wild meat like bison.

Unfortunately Canada is not a good place for street vendors due to long and cold winters. The other crippling factor is lack of population density. There isn't enough foot traffic in most areas. Multiculturalism also makes it hard to sell food that appeals to everyone. Hot dog works because it's fast, easy, and nobody really hates hotdogs.

Market 707, where Scadding Court is. That Korean food stall at Y&F they have one at Market 707, which is incidentally across from a hospital.

Edit: There's also food trucks, not as cheap, or some food courts.

I have the experience of taking food from DDosa Darbar (Albion at Islington) and B&B Roti (Steeles near MacCowan). Both are just amazing in their food taste.

In Toronto, the lack of food variety is mainly due to heavy-handed bureaucracy: http://www.openfile.ca/toronto/toronto/text/how-la-carts-street-food-program-fell-apart
