Ive noticed Dell.ca doesnt carry eneloop batteries anymore. Does anyone know why?
Also Hookbag no longer sells eneloop batteries (Im not advertising its just where I bought them from last time.)
Direct Canada doesnt sell them either...
NewEgg does not have eneloop on their site...
Are eneloops getting scarce? Why dont as many vendors carry them, especially Dell?
Thanks.

Wasn't there a supply problem since the Japan earthquake or is everything normal again?

These are now discontinued so you can only get whatever remaining stock is available. I picked up a few 4-packs of AAs going for $6.99 a while back and have not seen any since, though the kits might still be available if you look.
I recently discovered that the Duracell rechargeables (with white tops) being sold at Shoppers Drug Mart are rebranded as well. I think they sell for $19.99 a 4-pack, but they do go on sale for $10 off and you can also get a coupon from www.brandsaver.ca to get a few more bucks off. :)

Maybe it has something to so with the traditional Panasonic distribution channel now that Panasonic owns Sanyo.
I was at a Costco in the USA on the weekend and noticed that the Eneloops they have there are wearing new outer wraps. They were selling 9 or 11 packs or something like that of both AA and AAA sizes. For both the AA's and the AAA's they had 4 batteries in a bubble on the left in a typical white overwrap and 1 or 3 bonus batteries above in a bubble but the bubble on the right had a distinctly different overwrap of either solid medium blue or solid medium green colour. Can't recall if it was the AA's that were all blue and AAA's all green or vice versa (to clarify... these were not mixed packs of AA's and AAA's). Never seen these before. All the + terminals have the white caps still.

Panasonic owns Sanyo and has decided to kill the Sanyo name for just about everything. I'm guessing that we might be in transition from "Sanyo Eneloops" to "Panasonic Eneloops" or maybe just plain "Eneloop" and they're just waiting for retailers to flush out the last of their old Sanyo stock before releasing new relabelled stuff. Eneloops are not being discontinued - they're a very successful product.

Looks like Dell has got the new stock of Panasonic Eneloops (http://search.dell.com/results.aspx?s=dhs&c=ca&l=en&cs=cadhs1&category_id=2999&k=eneloop&cat=snp&x=5&y=12) now.

I've looked high and low at all of the Shoppers Drug Mart locations near me, but have yet to find one that sells Duracell rechargables ("Duraloops"). Are these still being sold? Is it just luck of the draw?

from what i remember, not all duracells are eneloops. i remember someone taking the outer layer off and they were chinese cells, not japanese cells.

To those that don't know, Sanyo was brought out by Panasonic.
Panasonic brought all shares(100%) of Sanyo and made it a private company, controlled by Panasonic.
This was just approved by the Japanese government in April of this year.(2012)
So from now on, all eneloops will be branded Panasonic.

So that's why they're Panasonic Sanyo Eneloops.
I figured there was a buyout or something.

NCIX still has them. Decent price too if you're a PP. Prob PM as well assuming you can find them.

Anyone else know of any current half decent "deals" on these suckers? Bought a bunch of LED puck lights to stick around the apartment and they run on AA's.. Don't want to keep shelling out money for new batteries and desperately need some rechargables
Thanks in advance!
