I always get best advice from this forum. Is there anyone know a really good computer repair shop in Mississauga who can help me with getting Linux on headless server?

Thanks in advance!!!

I've had zero issues installing Windows Server 2008 R2 (2yrs now zero issues). No experience with Linux so can't say. Check out the wegotserved forums for hints and tips. if you can get a cheap pci-1x vc that would work. or get the vid/keyboard connector that cost kinda much for a simple cable.

I installed Wins Server headless and it was super easy... all I had to do was run the NIC drivers via silent install on first boot by putting in the install script via ISO (well easy for a techie). then just RDP in and it was perfect. -sg

Thanks Sleepyguy... I have low profile vga card installed to H340 but it is hung on the bootup... I think its internal memory (256MB?) is causing the issue.... I spent numerous hours on it and finally gave up....

i recall you have to manually disable the onboard video in the bios. give that a shot. you have to do that blind though :)

any hardware to boot from? there are some headless distros. If you manage to do it, you will have less headaches than a windows server! :) Just sayin

There is another option... install Linux from the boot drive on another PC... the move it over. Make sure the chipset is about the same make... doesn't have to be perfect but at least in the same area and support drivers. that works too!
