Masking IP address

I'm not the most technologically savvy person, so please bare with me: Is there a way to mask or circumvent the Canadian IP address so I can watch streamed video from US websites?

I sometimes miss shows or want to watch webisodes from some television series but can't because the US website states my IP address is outside of the United States.

if you want to browse the web "with some privacy" for whatever reason.... Google "Tor Browser." But it's not meant for video streaming, it's more for privacy and it's pretty slow.
