I'm looking to buy a monitor to hook up to my laptop to use at home. My laptop only has a vga and hdmi port. This monitor also only has those two ports.

27 inch monitor at 1920x1080....isn't that impressive IMO. You would be better off with a 21.5-22 inch monitor at 1920x1080...a finer picture at less than half the price. 1920x1200 typically start at 24 inches.

^ There's nothing wrong with 27" @ 1080 for the average user. I find the larger picture to be a lot easier on the eyes.

I wouldn't consider that price 'good' as $300 for is around standard price for monitor like that.

not everyone is after high PPI (my parents..)

I'm not so sure about the price because I got mine for free, but I'm using that exact monitor right now and it is pretty damn nice. I'm using 3 monitors, this samsung and 2 24" ASUS monitors and this one definitely has the nicest colours.

Price isn't that awwwing...
Samsung has good reputation though, so you can't go wrong
