On reading the Brownscycle thread in the hot deals forum, a user mentioned buying from bikedirect.com instead. The prices are incredibly cheap compared to purchasing up here, and that is taking into consideration the warranty and possible lack thereof upon bring the back across the border.

I've never done this before so what is the best way to do this. I'd be picking up at Buffalo.

1. Pick up bicycle
2. Load into car
3. Drive across border

Seriously... If you are trying to ship to Buffalo, try a service like ShipToTheBorder (http://www.shiptotheborder.com/) who can receive the package. Keep your receipt. At the Canadian border, remember to declare what you purchased. You will probably be charged taxes. You could also be charged duties depending on where the bike was manufactured.

Yup. I've done this for 3 bikes now? 2 of which were from bikesdirect. Not that complicated. It's the same as buying pretty much anything from the US for import into Canada.
