Renting a coach/ school bus

Hey guys,

I was just wondering if anyone has had any sort of experience renting a coach bus or a school bus from Toronto to the states? I was looking into coachs and I called Pacific Western and the destination that I want to go to (Detroit) was about $4800 not including paying for the drivers accommodation.

Have any of you booked a big bus like that? We are about 45 people going on a trip to a camp site just outside of Detroit and booking a bus seems a bit easier than renting a bunch of cars.

PacWestern is one of more expensive and less flexible companies. Go to yp.ca and request quotes from all companies providing charter bus services for the GTA. Off the top of my head, 5K is a bit high for 10 hours return trip. It is doable in a single day, so should be at least 2 times cheaper. However, I'm not an expert (chartered buses couple of times, but YMMV).

Alternatively, you can Greyhound to Detroit and arrange an American bus to pick you up there. Should be within $500 for a bus, plus cost of Greyhound tickets.
