Just curious...

Just liability on a 1998 Camry XLE V6 is more than the full coverage of a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe V6. Driver history wise both of the primary drivers on each car had a accident in the past 2 years, so I don't get it.

It comes down to various factors.

When I had a 2008 BMW 128i, the insurance was $185/month

I now have a 2010 civic coupe and pay $270/month until I renew in 3 months (pro rated crap)

Reason? # of accidents, safety rating, # of them stolen, how many are in the area and how many people get accident benefits in either vehicles, your postal code also makes a difference. Give it 5 years and that Santa fe's premium(s) will most likely be higher compared to now.

It sounds like it doesn't make sense, especially since after taxes the BMW was $42,000 and my civic was $17,000
