Strongly prefer pms with offers of ram to sell to me but if your post has to do with helping me understand dual channel and "matching" or any other post that doesnt have to do with pricing please post here. Im not looking for tech help in a "for sale" section but i do want ram that will compliment the ram i have and i dont even know what that is. Therefore i do have to ask for a bit of help with this.
.
I have 2 sticks of Patriot G2 series PG34G1600EL, 4gb each, 1600 mhz, timings of 9-9-9-24. The mobo i have has 4 slots so i would like to get some ram that would match this.
I dont quite understand dual channel so i dont know if this ram us dual channel or not, or do you make it dual channel memory by the way you position the ram in the slots, like slots 1 and 3, 2 and 4. So when i say "matching" i dont really know what i am talking about, lol.
My Asus P7H55-M PRO mobo will take up to 1600 mhz. Here is the ram info from Asus.

If anyone has 2 sticks of ram that will work well with what i have i would appreciate hearing from them.
I prefer emt as its faster and cheaper but i can do paypal
.
thank you

Your best bet is the use the exact same ones:

4GB sticks for $25 here:

If you want dual channel, you must use either 2 sticks (as you currently are), or 4 sticks.
Any configuration using 1 or 3 DIMMs, will kick it back to single channel.

thanks for info on dual. So i dont have to have ram that specifically says its dual then? I think thats the bit that has me confused. So any 2 sticks that are the same and the proper mhz will act as dual channel if put in the slots properly? If answer is yes then i am good to go.

and thanks for the link to ncix. I looked other places and they didnt have them, so thanks again.

Generally, what you've stated above is correct. The only issue you may run into is incompatible RAM (either from different manufacturers, different quality... so many factors to consider). That is why I said your best bet is to match it with the exact same RAM. Mix-n-match is never recommended.

FYI, this is still not guaranteed to work, but you factor out a lot of other potential unnecessary incompatibilites. I've done this before with Corsair XMS3 DDR3 RAM, and it's working perfectly for me.
