Hey guys, ill be finishing up my Seneca CTY program come the end of summer and will be taking Business Technology Management 3rd year at Ryerson this fall. I wanted to know what the transitions been like for those that have done this such as workload and difficulty compared to college?

My other question had to do with being a direct entry student from college, Its mentioned in my offer of admission that I have do do 6 reach back courses in addition to the standard 3rd year and 4rth year courses. In the offer it says that I am able to apply for transfer credits towards the 6 reach backs courses so that I may not be required to do some of them. How many transfer credits for anyone that have done this was able to receive and of the 6 reach backs courses was actually required to take after transferring credits?

Congratz. It shouldnt be that hard at Rye. Just study and you will do fine. The more effort you put in, the higher the return in your grades (A+).

It shouldnt be that much different since btm at rye is more "hands on" which is what colleges tend to be. In general, university readings are a lot more tense than college readings. Just be prepared to put aside your time wasting activities aside and be ready to do readings. Other unis have it tougher, so consider yourself lucky that your not at Uoft, etc due to pressure and competition to stay within the program.

The rule is you are allowed to transfer as many credits as you have reachback courses; so since you have 6 reachback courses, you are allowed to have 6 transfer credits. I was in the exact situation as you. In regards to the reachback courses, the 6 I had were:

- FIN300
- FIN401
- MHR522
- MHR523
- LAW122
- MHR505

I'm an HR major so based on your major the courses will differ. I will have to take FIN300 and FIN401 as they don't provide transfer credits for those courses, and be sure to be on top of these finance courses as they are considered to be one of the toughest courses required. Also, then based on what courses I took in college, I was able to transfer credits to replace 2 of the reachback courses; so in my case I had to take 4 reachback courses. I then used the remaining 4 credits tranfers I had for 4 other courses I had to take in my 3/4 year.

Hope this helps.
