I found an old Jukebox shell on the curb last summer and finally have some income to start working on it.
It's going to need a lot of work, but I have a lot of time.
First thing I need is a basic computer with a decent to good sound card. Doesn't need a fancy case or anything, just enough to run a good music program and the operating system.
Does anyone have any suggestions for new or used computers that I should look into? I don't want to spend a lot on the computer (minus the sound card), no more than $300 if possible.

get a used laptop in that and put hyperspin on it. You don't need anything powerful... just mp3s.

I know I don't need anything powerful, but I'm going to need to replace the speakers in there (4 of them) and would eventually like it to sync to a sound system at my place.
I don't know much about computers and sound cards, but I figured it would be easier to do all this with a cheap desktop.

Anyone know if this mini PC is any good? Also saw it on NCIX for over $100 more.
Since $159 is well under my budget, I wouldn't mind spending a bit extra on a sound card or speakers. That is, if I can upgrade the sound card on these mini PCs.

Hm... that's odd. Unless they had it for $79.97, then it wouldn't have been over $100 more. Our regular price is $179.98, but we currently have an IR and a MIR, bringing it down to $154.98.
