I like the Multi Max. I used it to cut door jambs for new flooring, cut the wooden backing to my kitchen island thingy etc. Very useful, especially for the money. However, on the higher settings, makes your hand feel numb lol.

Thanks!
I noticed that CT has a Mastercraft Tool on sale for about the same, but with more accessories and a variable speed. Any comments?

Yup. I originally picked up just the Dremel Multi-Max from CT when it was on sale, but returned it for the Costco Deal, granted the set from Costco came with fewer attachments. But the Dremel Trio is $100 regular price, so buying the set was a no brainer.

Isn't this a repost? It has been this price for a while.. I'm on my phone and don't feel like linking to the original thread. The bundle is a good deal though, I almost picked it up last night.

What was in the bonus kit? Did you mean at HD?

Yes, the bonus came attached at HD. It's not a handle persay, but it attaches to the top and it gives me (ymmv) more precise use. Just adds another way to hold it that I find more comfortable. I can't find it on the hd website or dremel site.

Got the cordless multimax 8300 from amazon a couple days ago for $30 otherwise I'd be trying to get that costco combo. 9 times out of 10 I prefer corded tools, I always feel like I'm throwing money away on things with batteries that aren't used daily.

So the rotary can take the EZ lock small discs? Good for cutting metal right?

+1
Apart from the short battery lifespans, cordless Dremel tools have never been great IMO. Given the motor size restrictions for such compact tools, you really need full-bore 120VAC to provide any kind of serious torque.

I had a cordless one prior to purchasing the costco one. Drove me nuts. Always ran out of batteries in the middle of jobs. Returned it and never looked back.
