I recently decided to clear out some of my my used electronics and posted them here. I was also considering selling them to a pawn shop for cash or credit (if I saw something there I liked). I was wondering; does anyone have any experiences with selling items to pawn shops? Do certain shops give better prices than others? (I know that their offers will be lower than what I could sell them for here, but I think it would be easier and more convenient to sell them there. Opinions?

What you have to remember is that pawn shops expect to make a profit, so you're going to get market value, less the store's planned profit, which I would guess means you could anticipate getting half or less than you'd get selling it privately.
Pawn shops certainly serve a purpose but if you have other options to sell your items and aren't desperate to get some money, I would strongly recommend you avoid using the pawn shop if you want to maximise your money.

Don't do it. They will offer you laughably low amounts for your gear. Best option is to sell on Craigslist/ kijiji or eBay. Stay far away from pawnshops.

For electronics, expect to be offered 10 to 20 percent of the items value it is new and sellable product. Expect pennies for older electronics, games, etc. Same with housewares, tools, sporting equipment, clothes, etc.
They already have enough crack addicts bringing them in iphones and car gps and selling them for $5-$10.
