Currently running teksavvy cable 28 right now on my home network. Is it viable to just tether data from your phone? If so, which phone and network would be ideal? Is it possible to data tether so that if I took my phone with me there would still be internet access at home. IE. mobile internet without my phone being at home? Possibly cloning my sim card or some other method.

There is a lot of variables to consider:

- How often do you use your data plan outside of your house, if its not a lot than just wifi your TSI connection
- You will have a much faster connection on TSI than you will with data
- 300 gig cap vs maybe 6 gigs

There is other things that I can list.

If you're already with Teksavvy then you've likely been spoiled by their enormous bandwidth caps. I wouldn't give that up for tethering.

Maybe if you were using one of those rocket sticks..

Tethering speed also sometimes unreliable goes up and down... I see it happen with my hotswap bold 9900 option.

Tethering will not replace your home internet connection. The data usage and speed when tethering just isn't on the same level as your home internet connection.
