Earlier this year I had a spoiler installed, which required.drilled two small holes. Recently the light in the spoiler broke and apparently.I have o buy a whole new spoiler and it will be very costly.

I was thinking of getting the spoiler removed all together and get.the hole filled. I did the installation at this place near chipnaster, but I forgot the name of the shop.

Can someone recommend me a body shop.to do this procedure or possibly help remind me the place I done the original work.

Regards,

Xin

Oh. If you are not happy with price quoted by Velocity. Go to next building. 12 Heritage. and look for KKT Auto Collision. Another fair price body shop.

I got a.quote.for 500, because they wanted.to.repaint.the whole.trunk. is that necessary?

Get a second & third opinion (esp. if you are on a budget). To me, the shop just want to make sure the paint matches and that's why they want to do the whole trunk.

Just my 2 cents. I think if your car is relatively new and I would think $300 - $400 would be fair to have the hole patch & repainted (full trunk lid). That's why I suggest you get a few more quotes and see.

why is it expensive to replace the spoiler? I bought onefor my maxima from US and paid ca $200

the rfd way would be to buy a tube of sealant from the dollar store and plug the holes up.
for under 2.00 and 10 minutes of your time is better than spending 200 bucks. : 0

body work and repainting is not cheap boys and girls, hey mechanical repair work is not cheap too. lol!

If you drive a lower priced car you can probably find a trunk lid without a spoiler at the junkyard for much less than what it costs to repaint and fill the holes.

Are there another other cheaper spoilers out there for your car? If you are looking for good paint job it never comes cheap.

My other option is to buy another spoiler for 80, but that has to.be repainted.and who knows.how long the light will.last.on that

You sure you can't just replace the bulb, seems kinda stupid for them to make a spoiler where the bulb isn't replaceable.

Phil owns Elite Concepts (eliteconcepts.ca) and shares a unit with Alphawerx. Phil does amazing job though! I had him paint/prime my aftermarket sideskirts, spoiler, front bumper. The paint looks like it was oem factory.
He will give you an honest price for sure. Give him a call if you have time

I.would like.thank.everyone for their help
. I have many places to call and make a good comparison.

Yes, it is ridiculous for Nissan to make a spoiler without making parts for the light

Let us know how you make out with those mentioned shops and I will try to throw you a few more, if needed.

Patching holes requires the holes to be welded up, and the trunk repainted so that the colour blends properly. As you have found out, this isn't cheap. Either live with the broken light, get a new spoiler, or cough up the money to do the patch work properly

Thanks! If it is in the 500 range I might as well remove the spoiler, patch the hole without painting it, then do a while body vinyl wrap (since I wanted to do that before)

If you are going to do the wrap by a shop, it can still be in the $200 - $300 range ... just for the trunk alone.

Yikes. We are now talking close to $1000. If you are doing it and thinking of a reliable & reputable shop. Check out restyleit.ca

They charge a bit more but the job is really done professionally.

Thanks again.I think I will.get the old.spoiler.removed and the holes plugged at a.body shop without painting the trunk. Then I will get a whole.body wrap. Will update once I get a final.price quote
