wrong forum to talk about that kinda stuff.I would rather say it's the wrong website, since piracy discussion is not allowed here.

PM me, I'll point ya in the right direction.

P.S., Viewsats are dinosaur receivers nowadays unless you want to do OTA. If it is for IKS, then toss them away as they don't have much value.

not true. with the right card and cam update they can still do the job. not as good as the other ones but they still work.
op is suggest you take the other guys advice and pm him. we are not allowed to discuss piracy here but there are members who can point you in the right direction.
like i said home theater forums are your best friend. there is one in particular that covers this quite extensively.

In order for him to get this receiver up and running, he would need to make his receiver WIFI capable in order to do IKS. A device like X-FTA comes to mind, but the cost of acquiring it, would more or less be the equivalent of a new IKS SD receiver. So the OP might as well buy a new IKS receiver as the Viewsat is a dinosaur FTA receiver without a WIFI connector.

you dont need wifi.
an Ethernet bridge will do just fine.

This game is not that easy, need brain to play, not a plug and play type. Those days we needed to write the keys, up dated the firmware and needed a card reader to change the software. I had one receiver and a 33 ins dish to watch Galaxy 3 [not easy to catch that bird if you are new].

It depends on how you want to look at it.

I find to a degree that today's setup is better than the N2 days. Back in the N2 days, when things were up and working it was great, but when it went down it was usually down for many weeks to some times months. Of course there was absolutely zero risk back then like there is today, but it was the downtime that was a killer.

Today, there is downtime and usually it is minimal. Maintenance is usually 2 maybe 3 hrs, and if an ECM hits, you're usually down for a couple of days. So the up time in today's system is better than the N2 days IMO. Is today's system ideal, no, but its better than nothing at all. As long as ppl understand and accept the risks involved and accept that the system is not perfect, then they will be fine.

I kinda hate how this setup requires a server to constantly give you ways to unscramble the signal.

So I'll wait for Acanac TV.

i don't think we should be talking about this here. just the mention of certain words can be flagged as circumvention by the mods and have any of us banned at anytime.
this happened in the past guys. just saying...
i get what y'all are saying too. i use to do this stuff myself too.
