I love Project Gotham 2,PGR and MSR. That said, will I like Gran Turismo 3? I really did not like GT 2 at all on my Dreamcast. Graphics were subpar, and I didn't like having to do a lot of work to get any of the cars. I might put up with that if the graphics and sound are awesome.

Thanks for your help.

Probably not......the games that you said you like are very arcade-ish in handling and physics, while GT3 is heck a lot less forgiving and much more realistic (=stringent) in terms of control and overall feel. It's got the best graphics when it was released back in 2001 (which held up well over the years), but compared to a newer title like PGR 2, GT3's graphics won't overwhelm you. And yes, you do have to do quite a bit of work to get the really good cars and upgrade parts. :)

Because GT3 is cheap and is out NOW.
GT4 won't be out till next year and it'll be just more of the same (only better).
No, if you hated GT on the DC and the Xbox, you will hate GT4 since Sega tried to clone GT4 and failed. It's far more sim-like and not a pick up and play racer like Burnout 3, NFSU.

yeah, to echo what the others said, you probably won't like this game very much, too realistic (=hard), and the cars are a lot of work to get, adds up to very frustrating gameplay

maybe try flat out or crash and burn

Heheh, i have Bleemcast! for MGS and GT2... Wow havent played those for awhile...

Do you like Ferrari F355 Challenge? that game was like the Sim of Driving simulators... esp the arcade one with 3 screens, clutch and gearbox.

But yeah, GT3 is a totally different animal than PGR/MSR..

Speakig of which, are there any really good racing sims for Xbox? TOCA?

Okay,I'll take everyones' advice. GT3 is on for $19.99 at FS and I have one of those Mentos GCs. But going from what you've said it would be a waste of money.
Ferrari F355 was a great game. Test Drive Le Mans is another classic on DC.
Rallisport 2 is really good...Toca 2 was decent,but I didn't have it for long.

Well, the Gran Turismo series is the best for what it does. It's as realistic a racing sim as you're likely to find. Great cars. Nice looking graphics. Upgrades galore. But truly, if you're one of those people who wants to grab the Viper right off the bat, punch the gas careening and never hit the brake, then don't bother. PGR is probably one of the better arcade series out there. If you're in the mood for some wild and wacky racing fun you could always give Crazy Taxi a shot.

well all the games u listed are arcade racing styles, and GT series are pretty much all simulation. its more realistic. so i dun think u'll enjoy it at all.

Hehe... always brings a smile to my face when someone likes LeMans on DC... I played that damn game for a year straight! I still play it on and off to see if I can break my records. Finished the 'cup' races on Expert... DAMN HARD!

Have you tried Sega Rally 2? That has got to be the HARDEST arcade racers EVER! Decent graphics even by todays standards.

I've played GT3 and enjoyed it very much. GT2 had horrible graphics... I tried it and could get over how ugly it was.

GT3 takes awhile to build up cuz u need to build up money to upgrade ur cars and purchase some other ones, besides the ones u win.
If u have patience and time to invest, its a definite winner for racers. I would go back and play it now, but i traded it in for the 3 games for GT4 deal at Eb. That game is the best once u have the super cars and money to upgrade them. But it is a tuner's game, where u like to tweak ur settings for your preference and depending on the track and car. I remember playing GT2 and tweaking my Evo IV and Skyline R34, damn evo always beats the skyline in a slalom course haha ^^

for me, i can play each type of car game, sim or arcadey, though i do prefer the simulation provided by GT3
