View Full Version : Portable media player w/exp SD slot

Hi, Ive got a Mitac Meo 8380 cell phone that has been doing triple duty as my cell phone/mp3 player/portable vcr.

Im looking for something to replace it, not neccesarily a cell phone, but something like a Creative Zen Media centre Jukebox ($700) only less expensive.
Ive got 2x512 SD cards, so id like to be able to use them in my next player.

Ive got an SD card reader so I pop 1 SD card and just drag and drop mp3's over. The other i drag and drop avi's of my fav shows Ive downloaded from the net.

Id also like to be able to use my Sony headphones too, one of the reasons I want to buy something new is because the incl headphonse with the cell phone arent that loud and it gets hard to hear on an accelerating bus.

Please dont fill up my inbox, just post what you got as a reply(free advertising too) and I'll PM those that interest me.

Worst comes to worst, I'll buy this RCA media player from Caompgeeks (http://www.compgeeks.com/details.asp?invtid=RD2780-R&cat=MP3)

Have you looked at the Archos GMini 400 player, about the size of an iPod but it plays video. Sells for $369 at HotMp3Gear.com (http://www.hotmp3gear.com/Gmini400.htm). I've been very happy with mine so far.

Man, im soo torn.
Should i get a portable mulitmedia player or wait for the PSP?

Ive seen some recent reviews wher they are playing movies on it up against the creative and its rocks.

have you tried any of the games for that. i'd be happy with tetris and solitare myself. i bought a ipod mini last night and saw the gmini at compusmart. i think i'll return the mini in favour of the divx playing gmini!
