Hey guys
anybody know of a reliable Airport taxi or Limo service that will pick you up?

I'm checking the GTAA page (greater toronto airports authority) and while they have display the tarriff maps of the area, they don't list any phone numbers to call.

I've checked canada411.ca and found a number of taxi services, but I don't know what is a reliable one.

I've used Airline Limo for somthing like 10 years. Only one bad experience out of dozens of trips (a surly driver who couldn't be bothered to help with my wife's luggage.) Every time I've phoned ahead to book a pick-up they've arrived at my home on schedule.

I first heard about these guys when they offered Air Miles with every trip, but alas they no longer do that. Anyway,

1-800-263-5466
416/675-3638
905/676-3210 [that's long distance from Markham/Richmond Hill et al]

I am a bastard, I just pile onto a subway car/bus with all my baggage and go to the airport that way instead. Yes I know i am a bastard but I have to make up for that security tax, it is killing me, I fly almost every month on trips from Vancouver to Edmonton or Calgary, so not to far.

getting to the airport is a big hassle. the bus takes forever. I rather spend the $40 and take a airport limo. Get there in style :)

I am too poor to travel in style

I'm too poor either, but I am getting it reimbursed by my parents when I meet up with them. :)

Most people outside Toronto don't realize that

(a) it costs the same flat rate to get to the airport whether you use a taxi (old, clunky, poorly serviced, smelly, luck-of-the-draw, often inattentive driver) as a limo (late model Caddie or Lincoln, well serviced, clean, uniformed, professional driver, etc.)

(B) unless you live near the subway line or near one of the airport bus stops (downtown, York Mills, Yorkdale, maybe one or two others) the trip to the airport will take you hours and require that you transfer your luggage from bus to train to bus, etc.

Does anyone know if there is a place on the internet where I can view all of the rates from the airport to say like scarborough? or other areas of Toronto. The last time I used it, the guy just gave me a flat rate... but I don't know if it was worth it or not... as I didn't see a meter (or total fee display) inside the limo.

So I didn't know if it would have been cheaper to go via a real taxi that actually tracks/displays the fare as you go along.

Sorry.. just saw... this thread *is* old... maybe I should have started a new one  ... I just did a search and saw that this thread seemed to be on that subject... so I posted. Is there a rule against posting in old threads that are still open?

Old threads gets locked in the Hot Deals since they usually don't apply anymore.

I can understand locking a 'Hot Deals' thread when the deal is done with and old. But I am not sure it is entirely clear-cut as this thread isn't about a deal... it is in the 'off-topic' area...

Oh well.. I guess we can let the admins/moderators decide on this.

Check out the eastern taxi and limousine tariff maps (http://www.gtaa.com/Index.aspx?Sid=Node2/Node2.3/Node2.3.1/Node2.3.1.2&Tpl=1) directly.
