I already posted a thread in Hot Deals for a Benq 17" for $260 after Benq $50 MIR - http://forums.redflagdeals.com/showthread.php?t=125353.

I looked at the Cicero today. The color looked quite flushed and it was blurry compared to the Samsung and even the BenQ.

Was it properly set up? I saw the Cicero 15" and it looked surprisingly crisp.

I'm looking for an LCD deal too. I'll be more specific i want a 17 inch one with dvi and analog inputs, at most 16ms response time preferably 12, at least 300 cd/m2, and close to 500:1 Contrast. As for price $320 - $360 and no MIR. I don't think thats too much to ask for given that boxing day is so close. If you see something like this please let me know. Thank you.

That's what I'm talking about, those are the type of deals worthy of boxing day none of this FS BB and Staples crap.

IMO LCD is overrated crap, I strongly suggest you hold on to your money and wait for the slim CRT's to hit the market.

I second that. Where is the best deal on a quality 17" LCD and what's the dollars...
(quality means specs like eloytron lists, duh!)

The closest to that would be the BENQ FP783 17 INCH at $405.98 - $50 Rebate at this link from NCIX (http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=12789&manufacture=BENQ&promoid=1051) thanks to AMD. Cmon retailers just give us what we want in a couple months you will be selling these for much lower any ways might as well just get our money and get rid of yore current stuck, were not asking too much here.

Looks like the Samsung 710N for $355 - $30 MIR at Canada Computers (http://forums.redflagdeals.com/showthread.php?t=125903) might be the best.
Actually, seems almost like it might be a price error? Should I be worried about dead pixels?
edit: fixed the price. I'm an idiot...

Samsung 710N for $299? Where are you seeing that? Their flyer shows it what seems to be $355 - $30 MIR to me, and I'm not sure the MIR applies either (go to their site and see their regular MIR.. says with computer purchase). Not a bad deal, but considering it's from Canada Computers I'm not so sure.
Actually, I don't know about you; but I am worried about dead pixels. Canada Computers is very well known for their exchange/refund policy if you know what I mean. And on-top of that, read the bottom of their flyer about no exchanges on boxing day, and Samsung only covers it at 7-8+ dead pixels. So should I be?

I was rounding off in my head... Then I didn't go back and check. I think I just wrecked my RFD cred :( .

Well, they aren't going to take a return (well, maybe with 15% restocking or something, but i would never go for that), so it is warranty only.
As for the no exchange on boxing day, they just mean they don't want people coming in for customer service on the busiest day of the year, I don't know why so many people are trying to turn that into a big deal...
Anyway, if you are planning on making a return for dead pixels you are pretty much limited in choice of retailers right? Staples Walmart and Costco will take no hassle returns, anybody else (specifically regarding dead pixels, of course, we don't want to get too off topic here)?
Samsung only covers it at 7-8+ dead pixels. So should I be?
Ya, that isn't any good at all...
What I really want to know is the probability. If a lot of people are getting dead pixels on these then we know Samsung quality control is crap and you have to stay clear, but if people don't have a lot of problems then maybe it is worth the risk...
edit: added some comment on return policies

Nah, we all make mistakes. I wish all my mistakes were this small. You'd be surprised how often the RFD hot deals are mistakes, if you don't already know.

I heard they give you hassle on their warranty/exchange policies, if there's anything wrong with your monitor, you basically have to go to the manufacturer. Simply search RFD, google groups, or anywhere else for canada computers. All of them are about this.
As for the no exchange/refunds on boxing day, I'm not sure that's what it means. Why is it advertised in their flyer, and not their website? They seem like the kind of store that, well, which store doesn't, want to make a sale, and that's it. With the amount of profit cut they're taking on boxing day, I wouldn't be too surprised if that meant any sales on boxing day are final, without stating so obviously.
What I really want to know is the probability. If a lot of people are getting dead pixels on these then we know Samsung quality control is crap and you have to stay clear, but if people don't have a lot of problems then maybe it is worth the risk...
I think samsung's quality control is pretty good, probably about the same as the one for dell's lcd deal the other week. The only problem is, if you do get one with one to seven dead pixels, seems you're screwed. You're going to have to live with it.

http://pcvillagecanada.com/WebDeal.asp posted this:
Samsung 710N 17in LCD Panel (Reg. $349 - $30 MIR w/System Purchase) - 10pcs/store
Which is technically cheaper than Canada Computers, possibly. If you look on CC's regular site, their $30 MIR is with system purchase as well, so $355 - $30 MIR vs $349 - $30 MIR, PCVillage wins so far.
No clue on PCVillage's service though, just thought I'd give you the heads up.

Thanks for the info!
Their service isn't going to be any different from CC... Because they aren't that busy I think you (I?) might be able to talk them into allowing an inspection.
