I look all over this wonderful country and it brings a big smile to my face.
You see, I live in the Okanagan in BC.
Now I am going to start off by pointing out the temperature outside at the moment....10 degrees celsius, I am wearing a t-shirt and jeans, and I don't have the heat on in my house, Now I may be a bit of a hardass sitting at 10 degree with a shirt on, but in about an hour I am going to go on a bike ride.
Oh, unlike vancouver it is dry as a bone outside. Although it did rain earlier in the week and melt the snow on the ski hills, so when it dips below freezing it is going to take a high powered assault rifle to get through the stuff.
In the summer the average temperature is about 30 degree celsius getting up to about 40 degree in some areas. But most of the summer where I am located gets to about 30 tops.
I think this thread was more for me to just wave my e-penis around a bit, but I am sure that there are equally places where you gloat about where you live.

So what's your point? I happen to like it when it dips down to -30 with the wind chill...especially when I go rollarblading! So again...what is your point?

Funny post ..... Hippie. 10 degrees is nice. It was +20 here in T.O. last week. Its -20 now. God, I love this country. Most countries don't see temperature shifts of 40 degrees in 1000 years. Here, it does it in a day.
I would love to be in BC today. Or most days, in the winter. But I just don't like your liberal pot policies. I mean........ cheap, almost legal marijuana and hallucinogens readily available to all! Who needs that?? Uwww, disgusting ... (secretly sobbing) ..... just the thought of it makes me sick ..... (jealous anger setting in) .... enjoy your deathtrap ladies.

That is a pretty big mis-conception, everyone seems to think that forest fire are burning up everything in sight. Yes, there are a lot of forest fires in BC, every year in fact, but most places aren't affected by them, fires rarely damage property and most places don't have any. OK mountain park was because of the stupid forest practices put in place, they were putting out small fires for years, all that timber was a disaster waiting to happen.

I used to live in The 'Saug...well, Port Credit.
Moved to Burlington, takes me 15minutes longer to get to work.
Traffic in Mrs. Sausage is so horrendous, I loathe having to go there.
Thats one part of Hazel's legacy that sucks. Terrible traffic flow.

I live in the Gaspe peninsula, in Paspebiac, or about 10 hours from Montreal. It's really nice, it's like being in vacation during the whole year :)
A lot of towns around here were developed by Loyalists coming from New York.
Houses are really cheap, too. We paid our 3,000+ sqf fully-renovated 19th Century New England style house less than $100,000 less than three years ago (worth about $130,000 in today's market). Within 5 minutes walk distance, we have the Beach (http://www.tourisme-gaspesie.com/catalogue/1689-Plage%20Paspébiac.jpg) ( :D ) , Canadian Tire, IGA, Subway, InterMarche (supermarket owned by Provigo/Loblaw), SAAN, Robin Jones & Whitmann (the 2nd oldest company in Canada, but may soon closes because of debt), Radio Shack, 2 drug stores, 3 banks, a few restaurants and about 20 other stores. Police, Court, Hospital, library, churches, high schools, elementary schools and car dealers are all within 5 KM of the house. There are NEVER any traffic jams; when there are 5 cars waiting at the red light, we call it a jam, hehe.
The people are nice, the landscape is beautiful and the weather is great during the summer but cold during the winter (pretty much like Quebec City).
There are not a lot of jobs, though. We are supposed to get a Ferry to New Brunswick within 2 years and maybe a Wal-Mart/McDonalds within 5 years, but I don't really care about those two.
Take a look at the region! (http://www.tourisme-gaspesie.com/en/index.htm)

hey charger! where have you been? i havent seen you post anything for a long time now.
i have to agree with you, BC is great. i love where i live. and yes its true there are forest fires here every year, but the reason is because we actually have lots of trees! and i wouldnt trade them for anything.. its a wilderness 20minutes outside of town, lakes, wildlife, its great.

You know Akito, you sig is wrong. There is a contradiction in it. You support Fido but you are actually supporting Rogers as well. Fido got bought by them just this year.
I have nothing to say about where I live. Edmonton sucks...I admit it, I was born here, I can't change that.

I love the location where I live. Right at Hwy7/Leslie. Has bus stop downstairs, next to major highways 404 & 407, across from TimesSquare plaza (hmm .. yummy chinese food!!), behind Sheraton hotel plaza (hmm .. more food!!), hair salon, spa, and athletics club privileges downstairs. What more can I ask for? (other than high speed access to Telus backbone like CityPlace condo does) :D

i live in west van. which i beleive has the highest per capita income in canada? most houses run over a million bucks, everyones driving around in hummers, BMWs, mercedes, people are looked down on for driving anything less, most kids have lappys at school, brand new cells, digicams, ipods, everone takes huge vacations
think im a slob?
living in west van (and yes, i am rather priviliged) has taught me a lot, like how its that money changed people for the worse, and also, that people with money usually have more problems than those who dont have as much.. w/e, i dont look down on anyone, and i still appreciate a good deal

i live in east van, it's great, people get beat up, hookers lived next door until the cops raided the place, all the cars around here are old because all the newer cars have been stolen, and people actively test your front door handle to see if you forgot to lock it on a daily basis!

i think U guys R all lucky cause U live in Canada, nice standard of living :)
On the up-side, its 20+ degrees outside and I have rarely worn more than a t-shirt and pants outside for the last 6 months, but thats normal for Taiwan. The dwn side is the pollution and constant threat of missles from China.
I liked living at 7 and Woodbine, but the traffic pretty crazy now, I wanna get rid of Markham City Council for allowing so many more subdivisions to be built in the last 5 yrs....really pisses me off. :(
