Parts gurus, Acer h340 PS replacement?

Not sure if these are compatible:

Can I sub this with this: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/ ... No=7906012

Mod I need to do from another forum:
If you're looking for the 'easy' route, the only available alternative is a genuine Acer PSU.

If you're feeling adventurous though, you can use another PSU, but you're going to have to do a little modding. The modding is brain-dead simple though.

Step 1:

Cut the P3 wire AS CLOSE THE THE PSU END AS POSSIBLE TO PRESERVE THE LENGTH OF WIRE!

Step 2:

Either splice in a standard male 4-pin Molex connector, or get the following parts and attach them directly to the end of the now cut-off P3 lead:

(the parts are cheap; it'll cost you more in shipping than it will for the parts)

Step 3:

Install new PSU and hook up the Molex end to any one of the female Molex connectors.

Step 4:

Profit??

This is probably one of the easiest mods you'll ever do, and you'll save a bundle compared to getting a replacement Acer PSU that'll be underpowered anyways.
Form factor may be the same, but the Acer power supply looks to have an extra proprietary 1x8 pin plug. I would buy the Acer one to be 100% sure it will work.
