Good cheap case that isn't low quality Bitfenix Merc, PSU hard to recommend not knowing what your graphics card is, if you're using any. The Antec Basiq VP450 is great on a budget. ME has $4.99 UPS shipping on all this stuff and only one Bitfenix Merc left in stock.

What cheap cases would you recommend?

Should I ever opt for a computer case/power supply combo?
I have this case with a micro atx motherboard. It is very simple and cheap. Only room for one fan (it comes with an 80mm exhaust) if you want more cooling though.

However, I really like the fact that it is compact. Although there is no USB 3.0 on the case, it's not a big deal since you will have some on that motherboard.

If you want more space (installing the board is tough given the small size of the above case) check this one out http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_ ... _id=052795
Another option: http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_ ... _id=040682 (lots of room in this case)

I personally avoid combo sales because you don't really save much and get stuck with whatever they offer you. For a power supply unit you need to consider whether you will be using a discrete graphics card... if so then I recommend this PSU http://ncix.ca/products/?sku=59616&vpn= ... omoid=1288

I got the i7 just by luck/impulse buy from last friday's deal. I was originally going to build a budget PC for gaming/office work. But with the i7 only costing <$200, I decided to jump the gun.
At this point I haven't even decided to buy a graphics card or not (b/c the mobo has integrated graphics)

Which brings me to the next question: how much PSU wattage is enough if I want to slap in a mid-ranged graphics card in the future?

that is a great price for the i7. you will get a lot of varying ideas on psu if people respond but i would have to say that quality is more important than wattage and you can get by with a 500w if it is good quality. i Personally like the 650w-750w range for future use and in case i need to add more storage or whatever. Whatever you decide on read the reviews from known websites on it and reviews by people.

In case you didn't know - the computer wont use more wattage than it needs so buying a higher wattage PSU wont mean higher hydro bills but buying a brand that isn't good and low wattage or even high wattage of same quality can hurt your system if it fails or doesn't give as much juice as it is rated for.

I don't know what brand to recommend so will leave that to others and hopefully they will give you a decent cross of psu's and reasons for you to decide for yourself. i personally bought a corsair 750xt which was more than i needed but was on a great sale and beat out the 650's in price and quality. also you can buy say 2 antecs with different names or extensions like xt and have one with great quality and the other suck - have to look at reviews of the model number your considering and not just the brand name. Google is your friend :)

that was a great price on the 3770 and a good choice of motherboard. i am very pleased with my gigabyte board (planning to build a hackintosh with it in the future). gaming on igpu for the meantime is possible for games like CS GO but as stated above you should try and stay above 500w at the minimum if you plan to get a video card in the future. ill keep you posted throughout the week if I see any good deals on PSUs

Would not recommend such a "combo"

Depends on budget and desired features/qualities.
e.g. Budget, durability, noise control, aesthetics...

Seasonic is usually my go-to manufacturer for power supplies. Channel Well (CWT) and FSP made ones are not bad.

Some suggestions:

Not the lowest prices, but it'll give you an idea of what to look for.
