bought the $399 55inch tv from target
Tv is not good. When on pure white, you can see a very light dark strip in the middel of the screen. Is that normal or defective?
Please advise.

Branding Hype = Picture Quality in this case.Supercooled wrote: ↑What brand is it?
I think budget should dictate purchase not forum experts or the latest buzz tech (3d, 4k, OLED, etc).
$399 is decent for a 55" LED lit TV. I say keep it unless you're a sucker for branding hype in which case spend $1000 for a Samsung and call it a day.

If you read the thread, a number of people questioned the customer service and overall quality of the TV.

Don't get me wrong, there are cases where you truly get what you pay for but when someone purchases a $300 HD TV, they have already made concessions. Things like PQ should not be in serious consideration so when you throw terms like algorithms, it's just over wrought with minutia.Busybuyer888 wrote: ↑Branding hype? Maybe if the TV is used for gaming with a PS/Xbox console.
There is no way the cheap Chinese sets have access (legal) to the proprietary PQ enhancing algorithms that Sony and Samsung own.
One would have to have poor eyes to say a Element TV will produce the same PQ as a Sony/Samsung HDTV when viewing any HD source.
