not a great deal but I believe I saw Nimh rechargeables at Wal-Mart, 29.99 for a 4pk with charger. They should work very well. Rayovac or Energizer was the brand.

Assuming they are still in stock, Sanyo 1-hour charger + 4 x 2300mAh = C$29.99. MIJ batteries.

Assuming you don't mind going through cheap AA batteries, and I really couldn't tell you how long these will last in your digital camera, but I can tell you it's dirt cheap: Ikea sells 10packs of AA batteries for 2, yes 2 bucks!! :eek:

I've been avid user of these batteries and they have performed suprisingly well for the money. Not that I am in any way recommending these for your camera, but it may be worth giving a try. Just make sure you bring extra ikea batteries in case. I've heard stories. In the end, even if these don't work out for your camera, they'll certainly work great in other less priority needs for AA batteries. You get what you pay for.

I wouldn't recommend Alkaline batteries for digital cameras (or any high current-drawing devices). The characteristic of these batteries makes them not ideal for this application. NiCd and NiMH rechargeables perform much much better. Not to mention the payback period is extremely short which makes these rechargeables a very good investment for your digital camera.

Hee hee ... I am so sorry .... Yes, Costco.

1-hour is a bit 'misleading'. It takes 1 hour to charge 2 x AA/AAA. 4 x AA needs 2-2.5 hours. It can't charge 4 x AAA.

100V-240V ... It charges NiMH and NiCd.

It's pretty nice to have a battery capacity indicator built-in :

Red = less than 50%, Orange = 50-80%, Green = 80%+
