View Full Version : Looking for an ID3 Tagger

I need a tagger that will rename tags with the artist name as "The Artist" to "Artist, The". It's endlessly annoying having to do it manually. I like to load my entire collection into one playlist and have it alpha organized.

Try Media Tagger. I believe you can do find & replace, batch edit tags, query CDDB, etc.

I believe ID3-TagIT (http://www.id3-tagit.de/english/index.htm) Should be what you're looking for :D

musicmatch jukebox will let you do that and more including supertagging which attaches the album cover to the mp3's

Lots of options, but I don't seem to be able to do the "the" switching.

Sorry I'm old. http://info.elf.stuba.sk/packages/pub/pc/sound/id3mast.zip but it hasn't been updated in a while (since 1998) so it's probably outdated compared to the current software.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, but I can't seem to make any of them do what I want. It shouldn't be too hard to write a program to do this, maybe I'll give that a shot when I've got some time.

Second for Tag&Rename. You can do all the ID changes in one shot. Also it lets you search for ID tag info from freedb(only works if the tracks are in order and all there) and amazon.

Do any of these programs support Unicode names for ID3 Tags?
