Im inching towards the second one there, the 56 inch Samsung... what do you all think.

Also, do you all think I could haggle the price down some more on the ones at FS? All are already on sale as they are clearing them for new models I think.

we can't decide for you. You have to decide on two things. 1) size 2) stand or pedestal

Well, all are HDTV, but for the price range, is there one here that is better than the rest for some reason or are they all similar? I think the Samsung have an older image type chip no?

The samsung xx63's have the newest chips (HD3). Im pretty sure the 5085 has the HD2+. Don't know about the toshibas. Most people say the HD2+ looks better than the HD3. The HD3 is cheaper to produce due to the fact that it draws 2 pixels per micromirror or something like that. The xx63's have seven segment colour wheels, I think the 5085 has a six-segment.

Best would be to look at the tv's and decide what you want. Some people just go for big tv's, some people go with what has the best specs, and some people go for what looks best. But whatever you choose, I would recommend buying from the bay, because they have a much better service plan. The bay will match/beat any price you bring to them.

The best ones I have seen in this size range are Sony LCD projection Grand Wega 50" and Samsung DLP Projection 50".
