T5 Income

Hi All
I received a T5 for dividend income received on my margin account. However, I paid more in margin interest than the dividends I received. I assume i still enter the T5 for total dividend income but where on my tax return do i put the (income) paid?

Thanks

Hi,

My T5 and T4 slips from TD Asset Management are addressed to me with different "middle" name.

FIRST "Elise Christin" LAST
FIRST "E Christina" LAST

Will this be a concern to CRA?

Yup, just called. CRA goes by SIN, as long as that's correct, should be fine. Thanks!

How come we have to pay tax on these t5's? I have a self directed RSP and I don't receive these letters even when I have capital gains.

Income in a RSP is tax-deferred until withdrawal.
