Where'd you see $73.99 as regular price? I'm looking at the website (http://www.canadiantire.ca/assortments/product_detail.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=140847439 6669765&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441898371&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=1408474396670271&bmUID=1118496522104&assortment=primary&fromSearch=true), and it shows regular $49.99.

Probably not a bad deal for moderate home use. Personally, I'd rather something a little more high-end with lifetime warranty. Less likely to strip the tips (especially on Phillips head drivers).

But one question...... "meet or exceed all government specifications"????? What kind of 'government specifications' are there for screwdrivers? Besides 'Application of GST required on all sales'!!! :cheesygri

I have a similar set of lifetime warranty Fuller screwdrivers that have been serving me well for about 10 years so far. They've seen regular use and some abuse (hammers, paint, glue, caulking, construction adhesive, scraping, prying, poking, etc.) and are still going strong. I don't know how well a 'soft rubber ergonomic handle' will hold up over the long term - I can imagine after a few years of use and abuse someone picking one up and crying "Eeewwwwwww, sticky".

Less than a dollar per screwdriver? That's a great deal. I bought the set they were selling a few years back (ones with red handles) and they were pretty much useless (I only kept the robertsons as the flat head tips would literally twist out of shape and phillips would not grip the screws.) However it looks like all these are alot better as they have those hardened tips which the last ones did not. They have a limited lifetime warranty so if one does break bring it in and they will give you a new one.

got one yesterday, lots of screwdrivers. for an occasional user like me, its a great deal and the grips are nice.

the one step up is on sale too, i think its 79.99 regular price for 25.99 or something like that. It's got the more finer screwdrivers for repairing sunglasses and such.

I thought this was a better deal since i dont use the finer ones.

The front page shows a $69.99 regular price, and then when I click on it for more details, it shows a regular price of $49.99.

Not sure which is which, but it's obviously just a website oversight.

I'd call this a hot deal.

Lifetime warranty, less than $1.00 per screwdriver and with the hardened tips.

I buy the set like this about every 5 years when it comes on sale. Then I don't worry when someone else in the house borrows one and loses it.

I agree the ones with the large red soft handle that were supposedly 'contractor' grade were actually pretty awkward to grip any way except when you had lots of free space around it. (and the tips for the philips did seem a little soft and easy to deform). The first set I bought has the hardened tips which on the roberstons are actually a separate piece of metal set into the prong.

A set of about this size/quality goes on sale every 6 months or so, you can wait until it is the combination you want. I have bought a 75-piece set, a 45-piece set, but last time only bought a 19 piece set because it is only the most common screwdrivers that end up taking a walk.

Picked up a set yesterday, feels good, haven't turns any screws yet. Lifetime warranty is great with CT being fairly easy about replacment. I brough in half of a cracked tap once, clerk opened a new pack and replaced it on the spot without receipt given MasterCraft is clearly labelled on this private brand tool.

Do open the box and count all 25 are there. The first box I checked which looks unopened had 24. Past experience dictates always count cause they may not have stock on return trip for exchange.

this is a hot deal, check the flat head drivers first, (with the 10 driver set for ~$10 the flat head broke - exchanged it for a new one now Questions)
