Do I need to inform equifax if I changed my SIN?

I recently changed my SIN (work permit -> pr). CRA already updated my new SIN in their system. Do I need to inform equifax of this change? If I don't , does it mean I will lose all previous years of credit history? Thanks!

You should update it. Won't affect your credit history.

But all equifax needs is name/address/date of birth to verify person, if multiple same names SIN speeds up process as then they use address, work history, credit etc to verify its you.

It wont hurt to inform Equifax of your new SIN. Also, be sure to update your employer and bank.

LOL. There are a few threads on RFD complaining about Equifax making mistakes where a father & son live in the same house and have the same name.
