Do you think the Conservatives should vote down the government (with now-independant Pat O'Brien voting with them, they have a good chance of succeeding if they try..) on a confidence motion (ie. the budget) in order to stop the passage of the Civil Marriage Act?

Indeed. But I don't see why you can't continue to discuss it, especially in the context of a Vote of Non-Confidence. Will this vote be used to bring down the government? Does the liberal government have enough support from the ND's to pass this controversial bill?

bad poll design d_jedi.

you are splitting the vote of "NO" to vote down the gov't AND those who support same sex marriage.

It's the same voter; but you force them to vote in 2 spots who actually support one concept...

who would vote against knocking the gov't down over this issue and NOT support gay marriage???

I'm not sure if you did this on purpose or more likely a newbie mistake.

So now you have 4 and 3 votes which basically support gay marriage but divided into 2 categories...yet you only have on category for those against gay marriage...

change your poll to

1)YES
2) NO
3) DO NOT CARE

or

1)YES
2) NO
3) I support gay marriage
4) I am against gay marriage
5) I do not care

If you do not; you are totally skewing the results due to faulty poll design.

The Bloc support it too, it's a no brainer for the NDP. As it is the only party that officially doesn't support it is the RACT. (from what I've read)

The intent was, for people who oppose same sex marriage to choose either the "yes" or "no". Obviously, the people who support same sex marriage wouldn't want the government to fall to delay the Civil Marriage Act.

I guess it wasn't as clear as it could be.. but I was limited in the length of the poll question..

Reform Alliance Conservative Tories?

yes

I figure, the conservative supporters complain about them being called Alliance Cons, but I think RACT Fits. It represents all parties that they were, and that were merged. Since the party is more Alliance, then PC I think it fits that 3 of the parties are Alliance, to show that the party is 75% RAC, and 25% the real Tories, or PC.

I could have been real insulting said the RAT party, or Reform Alliance Tories, representing what they were, and no representation of what they are.

Yep. They're homophobic little world is crumbling before them. Now that Martin has finally found his balls we have the votes to do this and put it to bed.

Once this is done and over with I can finally relax.

I'm almost wishing I was gay just so I could join in the fun once it's set in stone. Too bad bossy women give me woodies...actually not. That's fun too :D

Anybody know if you can take a certificate course or something to marry people in the secular world? I wouldn't mind doing some side work marrying gays.

I like it and your logic behind it. I wonder tho....Conservatives and Tories are one in the same since the old party was the P.C. party. The term Conservative was never in the party names for either the Alliance or Reform party. Would you mind if I usurp the name and modify it to the RAT party? :D

well, if there is a re-election and by some miracle the conservatives form the government then we will see more fiscal conservatism which can translates to lower taxes which benefit the rich much more than anyone else.

Liberals with Martin look like they can balance a budget, but do concentrate on spending.

God help us if the ND's take over. We'd have kick ass health care and social programs but our debt would double over their term.

I always liked it when they called themselves C.R.A.P, or was it C.R.A.A.P.?

i dont get the point of this same sex marriage. why are straight people getting all angry and homophobic for. how does gay ppl get married affect their lives in any way? do they just have lotsa time on their hands to fight for a pointless cause? i work with this gay dude and he doesnt even care that straight people are arguing over this. hes still gay and gonna be gay and be with gays and marry a gay.

This would get you what you want without any vote-splitting (as ron's suggestions would force):

Yes (kick the libs out), and I don't support gay marriage
No, and I don't support gay marriage
No, and I support gay marriage

I figure, the conservative supporters complain about them being called Alliance Cons, blah blah blah

You know you're winning when the opposition resorts to attacking your name rather than anything of substance.

You are wound up WAY to tight, it was meant to be amusing. Its not like Conservative supporters haven't called the liberals any names, like say Lieberals, Fiberals, shall I go on? Now just laugh at what I thought would bring some humor to an otherwise doomed to be locked thread.

why are straight people getting all angry and homophobic for.

groups like the family coalition party would argue that the redefinition of marriage and the promotion of the gay lifestyle will lead to the collapse of society. i think they would rather see it brushed under the carpet and out of sight like in years past.

Thanks :D

Can't wait for the Harper's RAT party (a.k.a. The Alliance Cons) to go down in flames in the upcoming election. I can't believe they're within the margin of error for being tied with the NDP in Ontario. Mind you I *love* it but still am shaking my head to how the NDP get a great leader like Layton and the Rat's get that boob Harper :D

HAHA definition of marriage has been redefined by straight people so many times. look at all the divorces these days. back then ppl just suck it up and stick together for the kids or w/e. now these people are so unresponsible and let kids grow up with only one parents. at least having 2 same sex parents is better then one parent.
