Few BKs had this on for over a year and a half (or 2 years) now, except it used to be $1.69 until a couple months ago, and instead of Dbl Jrs on Sat, it was Chicken Sandwich. (the ones in downtown Toronto were Yonge/Wellesley, College/Spadina, Bathurst/Bloor) Alot of other BKs had $3.99 combos with a rotating sandwich each month (single sandwich wasnt on special). Now, they rolled it out nationwide.

Good price for a hamburger (I don't call them "sandwiches")!
But, I don't like Burger King at all. I like Harvey's, where you can get fresh toppings put on to your liking and they make it on the spot.
I like the Harvey's Veggie Burger. It looks and tastes like beef, but without all the fat and beef.
After eating the Veggie Burger, you don't feel as bloated, I've discovered.

I believe hes refering to their 1.59 menu that they have always had. Although I do find it odd as soon as Dave Thomas died they upped all the 99cents stuff to 1.59.
in any case the menus is things like
side garden salad
side cesar salad
baked potato
nachos with cheese / chilli
Chill
Frosty
Biggie Fries
Jr. Bacon cheeseburger
jur hamburger deluxe.
Biggie drink.

I guess the prices vary between cities. I remember when I was in Kingston, Ontario their breakfast (2 eggs, bacon/ham/sausage, toast, homefries) w/ small drink was only $2.99 (no tax). It was always made just right and I used to eat it every morning after my first class. :)
Then when I come back to Toronto I notice the price was $3.49 and didn't come with drink. Not only that, the breakfast was a lot worse. The toast wasn't buttered, and home fries were hard and looked like they had been left out for a while. So I guess it's cheaper and better in small towns. :cheesygri

I don't know if anyone's heard of SPC (Student Price Card). But to make this deal even sweeter, when u use your SPC you will get an extra side for no extra charge. This may vary in different cities in Canada. The SPC is a discount card that saves u 10-20% off at a lot of stores. For listing, check spclive.com. It's only $7.99 and is on sale now for the 2005-2006. Should I open a new thread about that? It says it's for students but I've been using it for a lot of years w/o ever showing a student ID card.

However, Harveys' burgers (most if not all) are not 100% beef thanks to their added wheat filler. You'd think their prices would be lower as a result. Perhaps being a Canadian chain restricts their total burgers sold. Less sold = higher food costs.

since you guys resurrected this thread, I thought I'd put my 2 cents in. I went last week and they gave me this wild card for every combo I bought. The wild card is to be used on Monday and the 3.99 price will go towards any of the bk deals that week. So I can buy the fish combo (which is the friday deal) for 3.99 on Monday as long as I give them the wild card.
