I believe the system uses a S478 Willamette CPU (256K L2 cache), SDRAM, and does have a AGP4x slot. Not hot IMO.

the company from my last work term chugged out 20 of these netvistas due to motherboard problems. I wouldn't buy anything IBM related anymore to tell u the truth after seeing that...

Socket 478 is Northwood/prescott, Socket 423 is wilamette. Of course both of those have been replaced by LGA775 now.

There were both Northy and Wilamette 1.6s but you are likely correct that it is a Wilamette (no way to be sure though).

Agreed! IBM mobos in the comsumer level computers are very bad. I still remember the incompatibility of MBs used in IBM K6 300 Mhz with Win Me.
Most of the time they even didn't complete installation Win Me. I tried several indentical machines at different time and they all behaved the same way: Hung up at a certain point during installation.

Many netvistas have bad caps so if you are gonna bite on this, CHECK for swollen caps around the CPU first. We see these weekly at work.

I would choose a dell over this deal tho.....
