Most over rated all you can eat buffet ever. Starwalk over Mandarin any day of the week. Twice on Sundays. AYCE in the end sucks in comparison to ordering a la carte.

If we're talking about Chinese AYCE places, my choice would be the Buffet King at Warden and 401. Great food (Peking Duck? DROOL) and decent prices.

For a Canadianized style of Chinese food, my vote definitely goes to Mandarin.

It's not great, but the one on Victoria Park and McNicholl (next to the former Centre Ice) has a decent selection.
Haven't been there in years, I'm overdue...

Well I just went to Buffet City and it was awesome. $15 Mon-Thurs Dinner and you get cold crab legs or the deep-fried salted kind. Quality salmon/red snapper sashimi/sushi/maki, dragon rolls, soft shell crab rolls, rainbow rolls, eel. Quality food all around.
I didn't know Mandarin was $11.5 or had crab legs at lunch. Did they not update their website yet, or is this only at a specific location?

i went to buffet city few months ago... they had crablegs that was way too salty (to mask the questionable freshness prolly)... it was cheap but really low quality food (even below starwalk :| )

For the heart of downtown you have the award winning Dhaba india cusine. The lunch buffet is $11. Check the reviews on their site. Been there, it is quite good, but my white boy inexperience can't reall tell much difference between it and some other Indian Buffets I've been too. Although, it was fresher and more upscale for a very reasonable price/location.

Also, Young Thai on John st, right around that same area, has lunch buffet 11:30-2(or so) for 8$ I've enjoyed it everytime I've went but they don't replenish the grub too well after 1 o'clock and the crowds have gone.
Yes, there is Pad thai, and also coconut beef(at times) some seafood also, but only a dish or two and I doubt it's real crab or anything of such.

I went to a place called Tokyo Teppenyaki on Steeles/Yonge last night and it was pretty amazing.
Kinda costly ($20/person paid for everything - food, drinks, tip), but I thought it was definately worth it, as they have some amazing food.
Make sure you get the enoki rolls!

Mississauga Indian/Pakistani buffets I know about
The Host (as mentioned, near Square One)- lunch buffet only, never tried, always ate a la carte there
Khans (Brunel road - Hurontario, south of Britannia) - Brand new place, havent tried but same owner as Salt & Pepper (Halal Chinese Hakka) next to it. I walked in to They advertise Halal meat
Guru - (Hurontario & Bristol) Formerly Sahara, I believe they changed owners, old owner opened the above Khans restaurant accoring to what I was told.
Havelly - 4141 Dixie road (Nort of Burnhamthrope) - Been there once, decent selection and quality, they have a live singer at night from what i could tell, large seating area
Shahi Nan Kabab - Eglington west of Dixie - Decent selection, food tasted great when I was there.
Sangam - Huntario north of Dundas - Nice selection larger than most others, service and decor severly lacking (second location at some hotel on Dixie & 401)
Shahnawaz - heard about this through several people though never been, Dixie north of Eglington - same plaza as Popeyes.
There are more I am sure but these are all I can remember

I've been to KHANS. They are pretty new. The lunch price is good. Food is exotic, some are very spicy. It left my stomach burning after.
Salt N Pepper lunch prices are excellent. Some days they cook better than others. But they have yummy noodles and fried rice.
Also, KAARMA on Matheson & Mavis. Lunch buffet is good price and they serve indian/chinese. They have chili chicken in their buffet menu. Fresh Naan bread.

I agree, also HOST is affordable and good at lunch tyme, I also love Pizza Hut lunch buffets and Chuahuann (Just North of McNicoll on Victoria Park in North York, but they closed down last yr :( )
I choose Moti Mahal over Host tho cause more selection (I;m a vegetarian), frankly Frankie TOmmato's is @ da bottom of the list, their food is just junk, literally, at least Pizza Hut and Moti Mahal have quality food, although not as much selection as Frankie.

THE place to go is Brar Sweets located in Mississauga, which is one of three locations (I haven't been to the one in Brampton, but I can tell you NOT to go to the one at Islington and Albion).
The buffet is cheap (around $10.99) and the food is excellent - always full of East Indians, which is a sign in itself.
Note: It's vegetarian but even my carnivore-centred hubby LOVES it.
Sorry, I don't have the address but it's off of Dundas West (not far from Mavis...?)
it's in the small plaza 1 traffic light west of Dundas/Mavis with the Petro Canada
