I need a new TV, something within $2000-$2500 tax in.
HDTV ready, should be able to work with my PC hooked up, PS2/Xbox and whatnot, viewing angle is a bit of a concern as well. It seems that plasma and CRT projection Tvs can't be viewed properly if you look at them from the side.

So can you guys recommend any models that are any good.

I believe the view angle problem is not with CRT, it is actually a problem with LCD, DLP screens. Plasma TV's are better, although the new trend is moving away from Plasma.

Because 1) too expensive, 2) more risk in burnt in pixel, 3) shorter life than LCD or DLP

If anything CRT is still the BEST tv technology around. The only drawback is its big sized tube.

Some brands I like are: Sony and Toshiba

I like the quality of the Sony models. I checked out a few Tvs at Futureshop, and it seemed like the LCD had a better viewing angle than the CRTs...
Yeah I'm not planning to buy a plasma TV, waaay over budget, and they aren't that great.
