is there any risk by the fact that active cellphones are still on your name? any negative balances you might owe one day?

Just do a change of ownership...or sell without SIM, or an expired SIM?
Or cancell your service?

which means the phones ahs to be reactivated by the new owner....which costs money, more money than the phone's worth :P
allright, i'll just trash them (batteries go to the fire station recycling bin)
