I just got a 100 pack dvd+r (Cicero brand) for $9.97. This is an instore deal since nothing is available online. The sku number is 10045156.

It's amazing how cheap DVD media has become. I kind of regret getting a drawerful of the stuff last year because the drawer's still three quarters full.

True enuff. Mine's Maxells and Fujis so I guess I don't regret it too much.

MIJ stuff is becoming harder to find in retail stores in Toronto. I'm too old to be running around looking for deals.

I'll be very selective when deciding what I burn to my remaining stash of blanks.

There's always MIJ Sony DVD+R TY blanks for $0.50/disc at Wal-Mart...

jay_bionic, can you post the media code for the cicero? $10 for 100 DVD+R seems too good to be true, even when compared to the dynex or benq.

Sometimes they have their stuff re-branded, their HDs are Maxtors. What are the two things you bought?

Bought 100 spindle CD-R and burnt 5 .... all coasters.
Returned them with the rest.
Not sure about quality of DVD, tho.

I think they're all rebranded, don't think they make their own stuff.

Not the BenQ dvd-r with the Sony/Daxon code I bought a year ago. Tried them on my BenQ 822A and got > 90% bad sectors @ 4x  End up returning them the next day.

I was at the Dixie & Dundas location today. I couldn't find them, so I asked. FS is selling off all the Cicero brand stuff and replacing it with the Dynex BB brand (I was told this by a FS salesperson). They have been sold out at this location for a while.

It's just the opposite for me. I bought 200 BenQ DVD-Rs during X-mas from futureshop for $60. Just finished 100s with only 1 coaster so far. I too have Benq 822A with latest firmware. I always burned them at slower speed though, 2.4x - 4x only.

It's probably the firmware. I notice earlier Benq firmware aren't very DVD-R friendly. Been having problem with ritek ones as well, it would reject the disc with power calibration error right from the start.
