Long story short i got a trojan that i cleaned out. do they infect *.doc and excel files too? norton shows nothing

only if they are embedded into macros

The worst virus I had was disguised as a .doc file. I couldn't get rid of it, only a complete reinstall.

Trojans can prevent the AIDS virus...so it's not always bad to have a Trojan.

Well I basically Nuked the partition that had the OS on it and norton ghosted an image from like a week ago. and then i deleted all *.exe files. Now i'm only worried about exe's inside rars and zips and infection of my document files.

if they can hide in exe files.. then they can hide in anything you can imagine

dont download a virus

Oh yeah thanks great advice! I should have noticed when the file was called VIRUS.EXE oh silly me I should have known!

watchout from trojan.bat, spyware.com, adware.zip

true, but lifestyle economic pack is much mcuh cheaper
