You need 1 wireless router, and 1 wireless network card for that one laptop. The rest of the computers can plug in wired into the wireless router.

You can use both at the same time.

You can get the Linksys WRT54G on sale at NCIX ...

i'm so jealous because my laptop only has built in wireless 'b'. Anyways, another vote for the WRT54G here. i can tell you that there are probably more RFDers who will recommend this router over any other one in the market. get one at your local vendor - cheaper than what they can be had for at FS/BB stores.

Any reason for the bump?

Your question was pretty much answered, and the advice is top notch.

Get a Linksys WRT54G (Don't bother with the speed boost version, totally useless, unless you have Linksys cards)

The WRT54G has 4 wired ports on the back, so it works exactly like your existing router and it has the added bonus of wireless so you can use the built in wireless in your Centrino notebook.

Don't be so susceptible - and I do agree with your opinion about being able to search for other advice. The other RFDer was a bit blunt but it's true that instead of just bumping, you could have at least put something like :

"Anyone else ?"

or

"Any other ideas ?"

A bump without any other explanations for this type of thread is a bit autistic, IMHO.

Oh, and the Linksys WRT54G gets my vote too :cheesygri :cheesygri
