First time posting. Long time lurker. The only thing scary is the vendor. Anyone heard of HL Technology?

$167.40 for a very solid CPU.

Edit:

Also the 144 is an even better deal.

These are primarily marketed towards servers and workstations.

People have taken to using them in desktops due to the overclock that can be achieved on some of the chips. Google and ye shall find.

so as far as a gaming rig is concerned stick with an A64 unless you know how to overclock then

I have dual 246's. Very nice for multitasking--I rarely see the CPU usage max'ed out. For games, its speed is like a non-oc 3200+. You can use the other CPU to do other stuff while gaming...

I recently purchased from hl technology. Fast delivery and good prices. I wouldn't be concerned dealing with them.
