Did you mean desserts? Because AFAIK Markham is populated and doesn't really exhibit the climate a 'stereotypical' desert would :)

You're probably out of luck in Markham, but if you keep heading south west you'll hit the Great Basin in Nevada. Personally i'm a Sahara man myself though :D
In all honesty (unfortunetly all outside of Markham), you can try the Dufflet location on Yonge across from Sporting Life, Marcello's (great italian restaurant) at St. Clair Ave. W. and Dufferin, or Hollywood Gelato on Bayview, south of Eglinton.
On an unrelated note, I second Killbill's Remembrance Day sig. Lest We Forget.

romance and markham dont go along..
some quite places that do serve good desserts..
markville mall's PICKEL BARREL
across the street theres TOMMY COOKS..very quite place as its usually dead in the evenings..
nice restaurants late in the nite offer a decent romantic athmosphere.. the Keg in richmondhill eastbeavercreek/hwy7... theres a lot of restarurants in that area that offer such an athmosphere..
bostonpizza, kelseys, eastside marios.... any place with a dessert menu after 10pm and has private booths for seating...
FLAVORS at progress/kennedy in scarbs is nice if u get a good seat.
mugmaster at denison/kennedy was an option but looks like theyre shutdown
cheers
