[hi everyone, been away for a while, but now I have time again. So bring on the PMs. Best process if you want an TV, is have a set amount you want to spend, come with a few TVs you want. Give me a PM and we'll set a date to meet and I'll spend all the time with you that you need. So start sending me those PMs again! lol]

Been trying to do something to give back to RFD. So here it is, nothing big, but I am allowed to give some sort of discount to RFD members at the Brampton futureshop location (Hwy 410/ Bovaird). Now I can't tell you the discount since it will vary for each product. Some will be more significant and some probably not have any since there is too little margin. But big or small it is still a discount. My name is Daniel, you guys probably see me around here often, so PM me products that you want and I"ll try to get back to you about the cost I can get to you at within 24hrs (this is if I work the next day)

Some things that won't get you much or any at all in savings is:
CDs, DVDs, Games, Video Game Hardware, Cellphones iPods and laptops. just to name some, but for other things i might.

RULE: Please refer to a specific product and go to www.futureshop.ca and find the webID number on the product's page. Should be 100xxxxx. Then I will get you the prices. This makes it easier for me to look up the prices at work.

I will NOT answer PMs which do not follow this rule. If you didin't read this post entirely and ask me about a product I mentioned I will NOT reply

good discounts on CD's, DVD Medias

Software you get maybe 1-2 dollars off.. but when the software is on sale for the first day it is cheaper then cost price, and cheaper then futureshop employee discounts.

best prices are in T.v's DVD Players hehe very good employee discounts. if your willing to give rfd people employee discounts.

some items that I'd pickd up using my employee discounts

Big Screen T.v
Dvd players too many
Speakers
Logitech Computer speaker that 5.1 $199 one. employee discount is about 129 or 170.. don't remeber..

the most i'd picked up is DVD Media alot of of them! $13 for thoses 50 packs of dvd medias

also a few car decks..

playstation 2 gamepad

I personally don't have a sales quota (I guess it would be as much as possible?). This is a deal that I negotiated with my managers for RFD members. If you come in, check my updates of when I'll be in to check for you the prices and tell the managers. If im not there, speak to my manager named Cornell. You guys can continue PMing me the stuff you want. Remember that things that are on sale, you won't get much of a deal on.

Sunday Nov 20th I'll be in, so I'll check for your products that day. And probably notify you guys the prices that night.

For large items such as Big screen TVs, better to give me your budget so that I can work around that. Most likely you'll need more than just the TV.

Reminding! Movies, Music, Games, Gaming Systems, Laptops, iPods, Cellphones are usually not discounted or not worth coming to save like a dollar.

Good things to save on is: Accessories

Nov 18th, 2005, 11:03 AM
I personally dont think this is to benefit the rfder through commission. If people buy big ticket items then yes, but most people will likely to buy small accessories and that doesnt give off commission. or I might be wrong. I'm known to be wrong.

Do the non-commissioned sales staff at Futureshop get anything like a performance bonus based on how much sales they ring up?

good luck selling PSP (product service plan) to RFDers ;) PSP% > sales quota

selling large ticket items without PSP is a sin at FS. :cheesygri so be careful if you push out a large volumn of RFD sale without little or no PSP. You might get in trouble IMO.....(it ruins their performance stats)

Do the non-commissioned sales staff at Futureshop get anything like a performance bonus based on how much sales they ring up?

No Rehan, I have worked at FS for about 4 months now and I have never heard of any bonuses for sales.

There is a Circle of Excellence where they rank you for a number of things like sales, PSP sales, Gross Margin, Accessories. If you rank in the top 10% then you get points that you can use towards the purchase of items like movie passes, etc.

But to answer your question, no direct corelation between sales and bonuses for non-commisison staff.

Also, not sure why the OP is doing this unless he/she is quitting soon. I cannot see any benefit as a product expert discounting items as once you discount, you lose SPIFFs (commissions).

K, I got like a billion PMs, so here's an update. I will try to get the prices to you soon as there are so many to look up. I'll add this thing to the OP that if you PM me, please tell me the specific product since I have no time to find what you need. Also, look on the Futureshop.ca website and find what the product webID # starts with 100xxxxx is so that I can look up prices quickly. I"ll need that from you guys. SO if you guys who did PM me can do that, it would be greatly appreciated.

Nice, should be moved to hot deals. Can save quite a bit knowing the markups on big ticket items like plasma TV's (my friend saved ~$1000 on his a while back just by negotiating and got free stand, etc). Save even more when combined with 20% discount gift cards. Good deal.

Yes, I too agree that D.NGUYEN is doing a good job here. As long as we are getting a good deal (that we are NOT able to get elsewhere), he deserves something (commissions or sales quota, etc.) in return.

By the way, it's a pity that the Canon camera I have been looking at JUST DISAPPEARED from Future Shop's website (even searched with brand/model #; was there, not anymore), so now I can't PM D.NGUYEN the WebID. Damn it.

Question...when is it the best time to buy a Plasma tv...during boxing day, after, January or Feb 2006?

Yes, the giftcards! lol. Anyways, basically the more you buy the more you save. Feel free to bargain with me within reason, NO LOWBALLING lol. For example let say you bought a plasma TV.

42" Plasma: 4000
Up-Converting DVD player (720p/1080i): $250
Wall Mount: 700
Cables: 300 (Monster that is, something that I can't give discounts on/ Monster Contract)
PowerSurge Protector/ Line Conditioner: $220
5.1 Home Theatre Package: $650

+ perhaps Warranty $600 (for plasma it's basically replacement since you can't fix them)

Total Would be: $6120 + 15% tax = $7038 (no extended warranty)

Price I would probably fix it to (varying per product)

$5259 x 1.15 = $6047.85

$7038-$6047.85 = $990.15

with warranty = 390.15 savings.
So you see, savings are pretty big.

The reason why self-advertising is not allowed on RFD even when it benefits others here is to draw a line so that advertising doesn't get out of hand.

We've allowed D.NGUYEN to continue this thread because he said in PM that he is not getting commissioned and he doesn't care whether or not people purchase through him. So we gave him the benefit of the doubt in this case.

First let me say congrats on the hard work here. I too work at a Future Shop in an unnamed location, and I could never see my superiors agreeing to anything like this.

(if you get the warranty I can probably lower the actual cost even lower).

I was already surprised beforehand with all the deals you managed to hook up, but using the PSP to give deals... is usually strictly forbidden. These guys should consider themselves even luckier if your managers are letting you do this.

I work in home theatre, basically I"ll do that department and perhaps some other ones. If you want comp parts (which are usually cheaper still at like CC or something anyways) I'll give you a price and let you get the info from the sales guys that I would recommend there. Half of us make comm half don't. But the comm sucks, cus basically even us lower sales guys would never break the minimum wage. Cus like on a DVD player, we make 1 dollaror that Kosch Divx player where we can make a whopping 0.67 cents whoot! But, lets say you guys come in and I'm not there, speak to my manager in Home Theatre. I'm 17 and just started working there for about 4months. We do this kinda deal thing for special groups, like RFD and the Peel Police.

I'm looking at this same model as well. Seems to be the only current Panasonic model with build in TV tuner and Picture-in-Picture. Too bad it's a FutureShop exclusive. Anyway, I did a quick search and came across this thread ...
http://www.digitalhomecanada.com/forum/showthread.php?t=33317

One of the posts (post #68 (http://www.digitalhomecanada.com/forum/showpost.php?p=292257&postcount=68)) mentions it's $2852.34?
And yes, it's a Canadian forum by the way so that's in Canadian dollars!

D.NGUYEN

That would basically be impossible, even if you worked at Futureshop you can't get it at that price. I'm sure I could work around the $3699 but not that much since it's reaching the employee pricing.

Hello all, Discounts on Big Screen TVs for this season. PM me the one you want. If you can get it lower somewhere else, I'll beat it.

How about the Sony KDFE-50A10 and KFE-50A10? Lowest I've seen is $2499/$2299. Do you think you can go $1999 for the KFE model (reg. $2799) or $2299 for the KDFE model (reg. $3199)??

KFE50A10 reg. $2799 (lowest advertised price $2299, Sears)

KDFE50A10 reg. $3199 (lowest advertised price $2499, FS/BB)

I probably won't be buying this model, but while you're at it, if you don't mind, please let me know your lowest price for this as well:

KDS-R50XBR1 reg. $4999 (lowest advertised price $4499, Chinese Sony Store "HD")

I might be interested in the stands that Futureshop has as well, but I understand the models of stands each store has are different. I've never went to Brampton FS (live in Markham)... do they have a large variety of stands? For a fact, I know that Lawrence and Markham East Futureshop has the most stands of the stores I've went to. Maybe you can help me look for a stand too... do you guys have any stands that have 2 levels, where the bottom level is 8+ inches high? (need it for my 6.5" tall HK-235 as well as 1.5"+ of breathing space).

Thanks.

What do you guys think of me putting a deal every 2 weeks for a particular Big Screen TV. Starting with this weeks Sony TVs KFE and KDFE models. Of course if you wanted other TVs I'll still give a deal but to just give you guys like an exact number for that particular TV. Plus, Stands usually cost a lot but my discount brings it down quite a bit. But the pricing is different depending on the stuff you need to buy, some people need an entire package for hometheatre as opposed to just the TV and stand.

That would basically be impossible, even if you worked at Futureshop you can't get it at that price. I'm sure I could work around the $3699 but not that much since it's reaching the employee pricing.

HP has it's 42PX500 clone priced at $3699....street pricing would probably lower than this. Model is HP PL4200N. It's reported to be exactly like the Panasonic 42PX500...except for a TVguide feature.

Retail RFD Special
Sony KDFE 50" 2789.98 2649.99
Sony KDF 50" 2489.98 2239.99
Sony KDFE 42" 2299.98 2139.99
Sony KFE 42" 1989.98 1889.99

KDF 50" for $2239... not as good as I expected. I knew they had a small profit margin but since it's FS, I thought it'd be at least $1999, lol. Oh well. Thanks for your efforts anyways, I'll be picking this model up for $2249 from Best Buy during the F&F event anyways, so for me it's not worth the drive to Brampton for $10, lol.

Hey guys, sorry my box was mad full from replies. Yeah, I guess for 10 bux it's not worth driving from the east end. Sorry I couldn't get it any lower, it's at employee cost so nothing I can do. If you live in the west end I guess it would be worth it. I'm tryin my best for RFD on the prices, sometimes I'll give you the price at if you buy the TV alone. Usually if you buy it as a package you would get a better deal. (the more things are on sale, the closer it is to having a discount at all.)

Long time no see! I'm back. Yesterday an RFD member saved about $700 on their purchase of a Home Theatre Package (TV, stand, cables, PSP (extended warranty))

If he bought Monster cables & PSP, he didn't save anything, he was infact ripped off.
