Seems like whenever i go with rogers i never get any of the cool deals RFD members get, anyone know of any current promotions going on with Rogers where i get something out of it. Thanks :)

My housemate has Rogers Cable internet in the basement and I live in the room on the 2nd floor of my house. Does anyone know if I purchase a DOCSIS2 modem myself and use it on the 2nd floor, will I be able to use that modem to connect online without opening another account?

no you will not because rogers will have to activate the modem and for that you would need an account

No, but you should be able to use a wireless or wired router to share the Internet connection.
