There is no conceivable way that preboxing day info is illegal, like they are sugguesting
Its only banned to maintain redflags advertising agreements.
rfd has gone too corp.
Hopefully a substitute will arrive shortly... and consumer power will return

The legal system is very different in Canada. Even if we 'won' a trial, the legal fees would be the end of the site. FatWallet fought, but FW also brings in several million dollars a year.

Same here! I picked up a 200 BenQ spindle! They were all 4X! But my sister ordered one 200 pack online and she got all 8X media!!! For the same price I paid! :-0 :(

When I went to purchase my 128 meg thumbdrive for $9.99 last week, I saw that the FS in Richmond Hill On had a sign in the window advertising that "The online Boxing Day sale at FS.ca starts at Midnight".
Lets hope the BB and FS have upgraded their servers so that they won't crash at 00:05 am like they did last year!

if anyone on the east side gets their flyers early then post, that's okay right?

Well, if they got passed out in the newspaper "today" I don't think Futureshop will mind.
If someone works at the newspaper and posts them 1 week before the date they were suppose to go into the paper...that's a problem.

how did they manage to pull that off? somehow I doubt ad revenue can generate THAT much revenue. also, how do you know they get multi-million per year?

It's a guesstimate. They probably do about 45 million page views a month and the US ad market is huge. According to Alexa, FatWallet is now the 170th largest site on the entire net and we're basically in Bubble 2.0 on the Internet. If you want to discuss it, PM me.

why does futureshop care if anybody finds out beforehand? does it have to do with competitors trying to beat them out?

The American site has a lot more advertising revenue - America has 10 times the market of Canada.

Because if you are told now, you may be exited to buy it now..but when the day comes you may have talked yoruself out of buying it. Also if you are buying chrsitmast presents still you dont want to be told that in 3 days that tv you just bought will be on boxing day sale for half price.
in addition, some compaines if they find out you had your super hot item being $299 may do what they can to advertise it for $289 and make them appear to be the cheaper place to go.

LOL
Just let Ryan run his site without legal hassles. If he gets closed down or looses his advertising revenues... we all loose. Wait till the sales are announced and buy then.

Just do some searching and I am sure that someone will post what you are looking for somewhere else on the 'net.
We don't run the site and also are not liable as the owners of this site if something objectionable is allowed to appear or a link to it.
Unfortunately this site has attracted the attention of certain retailers that have been clear in the past that they do not want their flyers posted in advance of their distribution.
On the plus side, once the information is public I am sure that all the information will be posted on here as quickly as someone can scan in / type out what it contains.

the FS sales guy i talked to said FS will match the price of boxing week prices, ie: its better to buy now, than to wait in the huge lines for boxing day and risk not getting anything at all.
maybe he's lying, i dunno, but over the last couple years, all the sales guys i talk to have been saying the same thing, so im inclined to believe them, for now.

I think it is a push to sell sell sell before year end.I bet they make bonuses etc on the year's performances.hence the buy it now approach.
I actually had one guy at FS tonight (who was very very nice and honest, tell me I "might" be better off to wait and see what the boxing day flyer has. ;)

I bought a Sony 50" LCD a few weeks ago. Let's say they went on sale on Future Shop online at midnight Saturday night, for less than I paid - what should my plan of action be? "Buy" it online as soon as I see it, then go for a pricematch in person, saying either give me the difference, or take back the tv, and I'll get the one I bought online? And if they give me the money, then I'd cancel the online purchase.
Otherwise, if I wait until the store opens, they might be sold out online, and then tell me sorry, can't pricematch on an out of stock item.

I've seen the FS boxing WEEK flyer, and there's nothing too great. Some warm deals on mostly little stuff, nothing major off TVs or laptops. I have not yet seen the boxing DAY flyer.
What's an AIW 2006 Edition?

u cannot use FS GC as of yet... only the "e-certificates"...
if u have GCs u want to use, just purchase it online w/ ur CC, then when u rec'v the pkg, go instore and tell the CSRs that u would like to refund $ back on ur CC and use GCs to repurchase the item... shouldn't be of any prblms.
