I have contacted them because I was using repeated searches but anyways, they claim to have a new search algorithm that will catch scripts and macros?!?!? Not sue how but whatever! I have been doing completely random searches for the past two weeks (approx 10-15 per day) and my search count is only 51! A search is a search no matter what! Yahoo is just trying to get as popular as Goggle anyways so what is the problem? My 2 minute rant!

enter search term in toolbar, then when it goes to the search results page hit the yellow 'web search' button at top of page beside your original search term. And presto (stupido too...)

Somehow, my old toolbar (1.300.256) and imacro (6.2.4.0) combination stopped working in July. Is yours still working? Even if I did a manual search, no searches were counted.

Installed the latest toolbar from airmiles on another desktop pc and it counts searches without problems.

Maybe airmiles has disabled searches from older toolbars?

The original toolbar worked with the macro but the new probably will not count searches made by the macro. All's well that ends well.

So, I've given the AM toolbar another go (stopped using it for a while). Works a lot better now, my searches are actually counted, and searching the same thing on a different day counts as different searches.

I still hate Yahoo results though. I use it to search for websites then entering them (like RFD) as opposed to using my speeddial

I searched all over for fixes and couldn't seem to fix the problem Today I sat down and disabled every extension and it was working nicely. Then I added each extension one at a time till I got to the culprit. Guess what? It is the airmiles toolbar.

The airmiles were nice but it is not worth hanging firefox for 1-2 seconds every time I switch a tab. Anybody else have this problem because it is definitely with the toolbar? I even did a fresh install of the toolbar.

Win 7, Intel P8600 DuoCore @2.4Ghz, Firefox 3.6.9

Freecause support suggested that it was the anti virus program. I am using Antivir. I tried disabling it but it may no difference.

Who knows why, all I know is that it is definitely the cause.

For those of you trying to get the 100 AM bonus from the safeway and cannot find a valid safeway club card number to use do a google image search for safeway club card and enter one of the numbers off of there. It seems they updated this to only work with valid card numbers. I was able to find a couple from google images that worked lol

I got this too, but found out how to get around it... When you search for something that gets flagged (like ebay), search for "ebay canada" or "ebay login" instead. the results still show ebay.ca and you now trick the toolbar into counting your already legitimate search. and instead of "hotmail" try "hotmail login" or "hotmail sign in". keep trying different variations, it seems like it denies short searches (like "ctv") and repetitive searches, like "facebook" everyday.

kind of a pain, but for 30AM a month, well worth it.

yes it was slowing down my browser, despite trying chrome, safari, explorer and firefox on it. I install it every month, do my searches and then get rid of it. Or keep it to IE (which I never use) and just search with that one.

Search for one on google images; some people scaned their card and posted the picture on their web sites. Easy to find using Google.

Then, if it does not work (safeway number already used) then change the last 1 or 2 numbers with random numbers.

I have been having this kind of problem for a few months now!

I have been doing random searches (weather valid or not, still searches) and I get a popup stating that the search will not be counted!

Sent an e-mail to the toolbar support and they told me that either I was using a bot program, a repeated search or a search that was not being used for informational purposes! I told them that I did not have a bot program and that I was simply entering random searches. Weather they are random or not, the searches are probably being used by Yahoo to increase their credibility anyways!

If I do to many searches in a day or to many consecutively, I get the popup! This will last until I perform another 15 to 20 searches then it counts again!

I is starting to be more of a pain that what it is worth.

I might max my searches to 100 - 150 per month now. Of course it is better that nothing but...

I do random searches consecutively just to increase the search counter. After about 15 searches I usually get the pop-up... at this point i click one of the result link from that search.... once the page is loaded I start random searching again and the counter starts moving again

I;ve got that problem before. I just search, wait 5 seconds and see the ticker count the search and then make another. If I type searches in to quickly between each other, then it will not count and I will get the "Search not counted" pop-up.

My tool bar is stalled... it shows a number of searches but has a "no" image like the one is ghostbusters beside my searches rather than the green check mark

Found on old hard drive that had a different version of the toolbar (can't tell) and now no problems...

It seems the new toolbar you download is very particular about your searches.

I have taken on the best practice of clicking in the searches results after every 5 or 10 searches... this was a reason my searches weren't being counted on the new toolbar as it said something like "you search will not count as it appears you are not using the service for results"

I do not use the macro , just do 10 -15 searches a day and use cast member of shows as my search terms...

Mine used to update after several searches. For the last few days though, it has stopped working. This has always happened at the beginning of the month when I had no searches so I would uninstall and reinstall. Not sure what to do now. I don't want to lose my searches.

Update: Dec. 1. I have tried installing and reinstalling twice and I still can't get it to count searches. Anyone have any ideas?

Received 30 AM for Dec 2010, but no response from them regarding 5 missing AM for each of July and October of 2010. (I've emailed twice, and just get "we're escalating the issue" or something similar -- doubt if I'll ever get them).

I had contacted airmilesshops.ca about some missing points. On their website it states the following:

"Reward miles will be issued to your account as quickly as possible, and may take up to 30 days from purchase to appear. Any additional or bonus reward miles may take up to 60 days from purchase to appear in your account."

I just received an email from their Customer service responding to my missing points inquiry stating:

"Our Sponsors have 60 days to post standard reward miles from the date of purchase. Bonus Offer reward miles can take up to 120 days from the purchase date.
The reason for these time periods is because several of our Sponsors allow the accumulation of reward miles over a weekly and in some cases, a monthly period. This provides greater opportunities for our Collectors to earn more reward miles."

The toolbar has many faults and is very slow to log airmiles .. watch using the abck browser button cause it will count as a search that does not count and then they stop issuing .. Its strange as most people search and use the back browser button to look at other options of the search and in this case you get nailed

Keep copies of all the surveys emails and the ID numbers of the surveys you complete and how many airmiles they are for. I am fighting with them now because they owe me over 50 airmiles from surveys I have done, but have not been credited for. They just sit in the pending survey list.

Can you post the coupon, I did not receive their e-mail even though I got the 20 Air miles last year. Also side note, the 20 Air miles coupon for this year does NOT work if you used it last year. Their computers say one offer per person. I hope this coupon is a different barcode so it will accept it.

If you haven't used your HBC points card in a while, they cancelled it and you lost any points you had on there.

Otherwise, disregard and maybe someone else can help. I haven't entered that one so I don't know what numbers they expect from the card and if they verify the card's validity right away or not.

Hi there,

Recently I was trying to redeem my HBC points to AM so I can use them all up, however, even though my HBC points is about 50,000, it wouldn't let me redeem all, it says only 19,500 are redeemable.

Anyone knows what's that mean? Where can I find the rules about redeem for AM?

Only HBC points earned shopping at the stores (ie Bay & Zellers) can be converted to AM. Any received thru special promotion (ie surveys) cannot.

Most of the HBC points I obtained are from purchases + coupons shared by nice RFDers posting their copy. I have never received those myself.
