It's only January but that isn't stoppping Dell. Starting January 10th, they're holding their Dell's 9 Business Days of Deals (http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/stat?id=CAqD7bLWUPI&offerid=55419.10000067&type=3) on software and peripherials. And so begins the 9 Business Days of Deals... Day 1 is interesting as you almost never know what you're going to get... any predictions?

Alright I'll sum the next 3-4 pages before the deals go live:
-"I want an LCD monitor"(3 pages)
-"Axim deal!" (half a page)
-The rest of the posts will be occaisonal mentions of an Iomega external HDD, and some oddballs hoping for that new 30" LCD monitor at some outrageously low price.

Yeah! I know. The $89 military phone and Iogear USB phone are for me to use in the Army. The Sanyo dual handset is for my girlfriend and her roomate to intercome to each others.
It may be more fun to visit my federal election polls here instead:

I guess I'm a Dell Day newbie, do the items normally sell out rather quickly?
I am looking to buy a LCD but chances are I wont be able to call Dell and order it till after work which is usually around 5:30.
Am I going to be sol?

A socom phone! But this is pretty cool cos Plantronics is famous for making the headset that Neil Armstrong used on the moon. That phone is usually really expensive too!

Don't worry. Anything that bears a Dell brand will be sold all day long until bedtime.

if you did like corporate purchasing this is an AMAZING price to stock up for the call center. Its more expensive to get broken ones repaired then it is to buy them at that price.

I thought the Plantronics headset might be a good option, but reviews on the net (type CT12 plantronics review in Google) suggest that it's a wifi killer. Plantronics does make some good quality products, but perhaps it's best to wait for a 5.8 Ghz version at some point.

Although these deals are not very appealing to me either, y'all are missing part of the sale-- and I found it educational, if not a compelling buy. (you will find these on the right side of the 3 deals you have already highlighted.)
That is:
the LINKSYS
SPA-841 Business IP telephone with Speakerphone - 2 or 4 Line
$119.00
$79.001
[You Save $40.00]
LINKSYS
CIT200 Skype Cordless Internet IP Telephone Kit
$139.00
$119.001
[You Save $20.00]
Can the first phone be used with a free or almost free voip provider? I see the regular voip providers (eg in globe and mail magazine today) cost like $55 a month and are targeted at small businesses.
They also have a skype phone (CIT200) done with linksys (cisco) for $119. (only 20 off) This I understand better, and i am thinking of getting skypeout to make cheap outgoing calls. I assume this would only work with skype right? (2.7 cents /minute to many countries) or i guess free to someone on a computer?.
This wireless phone, works on a 1.9 gh band that does not interfere with 2.4 wireless. (unlike the army phone that caught you guy's er i mean folk's glance)
I currently have a linksys router on a dsl line, but does not have voip priority. I'm wondering whether this lack would make any difference in how these units would operate? I guess it might with a less than perfect connection, but say i have a 54mh connection but am p2p ing full blast from one system. Can i still use the phone... Perhaps i should check out the regular skype on the computer first. Guess that might answer my question.
Anyway, these units motivated me to surf and waste some time learning!!, so i thought I'd help out at least hopefully one of you, in extending the procrastinating of your more important work/sleep whatever.

no, 360 uses a proprietary connector.
WRONG !!!
Xbox 360 boasts three multi-purpose USB ports (two in front, one in back), so there is almost no end to the various accessories and other pieces of hardware that will connect to the console and interact with it. The keyword here is versatility.
Still, i doubt the speaker phone would work... :?:

Somone else posted that Sanyo phones are fairly sucky. What other opinions are there? Trying to look on epinions for them. I bought what I thought was a half decent Panasonic cordless with speakerphone, and frankly, it sucks. I tried a old panny phone before and it licked arse as well. I have an old toshiba cordless that seems to perform much better. The Dual handset one looks appealing.
