Good question, I haven't found an online stream either. I would think there'd be massive bandwidth congestion, though. I don't have many channels (hardly watch TV) and wanted to watch the earlier women's gymnastics, but CBC did not broadcast this. :(

You probably won't find a live stream. I'm sure the IOC doesn't give you internet broadcast licenses to any place in the world.

13 countries are carrying the games online, however Canada isn't one of them the IOC only allowed it if there is no way to view outside of that country.
try bbc.co.uk they have live streams from the UK only.

So the opening ceremonies are today..right smack-dab during the middle of the day while everyone is at work. Anybody know of any live stream available to watch it?

Nbc looked at offering it but they opted not to.Part of the reason is cost they would have charged they was the feeling people would not want to pay big pucks from the streaming at this point. The price would have been $200 usd for the package.

Truly superior French coverage of the Opening Ceremony.
Peter Nasalbridge was awful yet again. Spoling the upcoming moments for those watching.

Get used to it, they are about 5-6 hours ahead...they are going to run things on their schedule and not have events run from 5pm to 5am local time

From what I can tell, RAI is streaming live from this page (http://www.media.rai.it/mpelenco/0,,21,00.html) but you have to be in Italy to see it. I haven't found a working proxy so far. >:(

Low tech solution is to listen to the radio broadcast at work. Anyone know which radio station carries the olympics in GTA area if any?
